Possible perma-ban

Possible perma-ban

I think my account is permanently banned from sharing links because I just started using dropbox again after years of no usage or just local file storage and when I wanted to share a folder today no-one could access the folder after seeing a 404 error. In the past (speaking of 6+ years ago) there were some .exe files shared on this account as far as I remember so maybe this is the reason. Is it possible that this ban can be undone/lifted?

Thanks in advance!

(Using Dropbox Basic btw)

Hey @Tryingtoshareafilewithfriends, sorry to hear about this.

Can you clarify how long has it been since you first got this error when trying to share a link to your files or folders?

Did you get an email from Dropbox informing you about this perhaps?

Let me know what you find!

Hi Walter,

Thank you for responding to my post.
The first encounter was today when I tried to share my vacation pictures with my friends. I've tried searching my inbox for previous e-mails about any possible ban from Dropbox but couldn't find anything specific. It seems weird to me that I could be temporarily banned because I just started using this account again for sharing files.

Best Regards
