A file I uploaded and set permissions to anyone with link isn't giving access, I have to grant permission through email, email says: xxx@gmail.com wants to access your file "xxx." Share this file with xx to let them view it. Why?
Hi @Jovin, let's jump right into this!
Out of curiosity, which platform did you use, in order to create the link?
If you check the file's Who has access setting, do you see selected the "Anyone with the link" option?
Let me know more!

I'm on desktop, yes everything looks like it should, says anyone with link
Hi @Jovin, can you delete your current link, and then follow these steps, in order to create a new link through our website?
Let me know if this changes things at all.

I deleted the file, uploaded again and created link with the share button insteady of the copy link button like I did before. I checked the permimssions after I originally copied the link and it all looked correct but hopefully this works by creating with the share button instead. I tested it while signed out into a different gmail with no dropbox linked and it looks like it's working, hopefully I get no more request emails. Thank you!
Update, I have gotten emails stating "xx wants access to your file" and I have not clicked the link in the email to grant access. I haven't gotten any messages from anyone asking for me to approve so not sure if they just gave up or it is working, don't know why I'm getting emails asking for me to "grant permission" though if the view link is working. One person has messaged asking for a different way to get the file because for some reason didn't want to sign up for dropbox so sent a drive link instead, but that has nothing to do with the permissions, just wanted to share that the mandatory sign up to view a file might be intimidating for some. Maybe for view only files Dropbox could grant permission to view without even signing in, maybe that wouldn't prompt the "wants access to your file" email either.
Still can't figure out why I get emails to request access, I believe I had the link permissions set correct the first time, redid it using the share button set to anyone with link can view as suggested, tested link several ways, different browsers, private mode, incognito mode, etc. It looks like it is working on my end but still getting request access emails 😞
Hey @Jovin, sorry to jump in, but I just want to check; have you deleted the old shared links or are you still using both the old shared link and the new one?

Hi @Jovin, can I send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
