Accidentally uploaded a very sensitive file

Accidentally uploaded a very sensitive file

Hello,

The subject says it all. I accidentally uploaded a very sensitive file containing my personal information on my other account. It was in my shared folder (shared folder with 1 friend) for about 1 hour but my friend didn't see it. I unshared the folder and then deleted the file. Permanently. Now my friend can't even see the folder in his Dropbox so I guess that worked.

The file is now permanently deleted and I didn't see the file anywhere anymore on my Dropbox. I also deleted the account the file was uploaded on. Can I be sure the file and it's data was deleted from everywhere or do I still have something to worry about?

Hi @Temperament, thanks for posting on the Community!

Just to clarify, when you say you permanently deleted the file, are you referring to permanently deleting the file from this page online?

Assuming the other person didn't see and copy the file, and that no one had access to other devices it could have synced to in order to copy it, prior to the deletion, then it should be fine.

Let me know if you need any further info!
