All my files on desktop disappeared after logging out of Dropbox

All my files on desktop disappeared after logging out of Dropbox

All my files on desktop disappeared after logging out of Dropbox and logging in using a different email..

I only see a Folder called "My files in Dropbox" but all folders all messed up, missing my Pro Tools Sessions.

How do I fix this?

Hi @Atla, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Were your files on the desktop showing up as online-only files before?

Are you able to login to the other account on the site to locate your missing files there?

This will help me to assist further!

The files that were on my desktop were normal files and were there even before I first created a drop box account so i assume they were NOT “online only “ files.

Yes im able to log in but I don’t see the files .

After changing my Dropbox account user all my desktop files appeared under this strange new folder called "My files in Dropbox" . However all the pro tools files are missing , ableton files are missing also. Some of my music sessions folder are there but missing other important files inside some of these folders .

Please help !

Was the Dropbox desktop application fully syncing prior to you signing out of the app into another account entirely? Did the files have a chance to be uploaded to the site in order for you to recover them from there?

Yes the files on my desktop were fully synced before i signed out of the app into another account.

The files that were on my dropbox folder are still in the site but I don't know where are the files that were on my desktop.

Whats should I do?

Hey @Atla, sorry to jump in, but can you clarify if you can find any signs of your missing files in that account's events page

Also, do you see an (Old) Dropbox Folder anywhere on your computer?
