Being asked for owner permission to delete my own files

Being asked for owner permission to delete my own files

Nothing like typing the same thing twice.

Ok, second try:  I am trying to delete a bunch of extraneous stuff.  It won't let me, tells me to ask the owner for permission.

I am the owner.  Always have been, nobody else ever has been, no other devices attached to the account.  No shared files or folders.  Never was.

So why can't I permanently delete MY OWN STUFF???

Hey @MollyMarion! Thanks for posting here today.

If you’re the owner of these files, you should be able to delete them indeed.

Can you please send me a screenshot of the error you keep getting, as well as one more of how these files appear in your Dropbox account? I'd like to check for folder icons, and anything else that can help us understand what's going on.

Let me know, and we’ll take it from there.

Hey @kerli koiv - sorry to hear about this.

Could you send us a screenshot of the message you're getting so that we can have a  visual too?

Thanks!

I keep getting a message that says ask the owner to help delete these files. This is for a giant reunion. It is my drop box and I am the only one who can manage the files. It's over 600 people who will be uploading photos.  I can't ask these people to help me delete them. I don't know half of them and don't have contact with them directly. I want to get these deleted files out of my delete folder. Can someone help me with this? I think it's a bug Dropbox needs to fix. I am the only one allowed in my dropbox.

Hey @Buffy Crosby, thanks for reaching out to us.

Are you the owner of the folder that these files are in?

You can check that, by clicking on the share icon and then on "who can access".
