Deleting files

Hello,

I have been trying to delete files to make more space. To do this, I have been deleting folders. Then, when I go to the deleted files page, I delete these folders/files forever. However, even though I only have a couple of small files in dropbox, I keep being told I have used up all my storage. Can you please advise on how to make space. Thanks.

I finally found the issue, backup was turned on creating another location where the files were copied to. i turned off backup and now the used space is well within limits. thank you

Thank you! Maybe a dumb question, but if I disable backup, that doesn't mean that my files are not being automatically saved in dropbox, right? It just means a duplicate copy of them isn't created?
