Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
Dropbox has recently started uploading both an original and an edited version of pictures. I don't know where this edited version is coming from. The edited version does not show in the iOS Photos app. All photos are taken with the regular Camera app. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hi @jbeaston, thanks for messaging the Community!
Are you using any filters when taking photos with the camera app, including things like portrait mode? If so, those are considered edited versions of the photos, so both the original and edit are uploaded automatically if camera uploads are enabled.
Currently, it isn’t possible to enable an option to upload only the edit or the original photo.
If you wish, you can suggest this change for others to vote on, so the dev team can look into this in future!

Thanks Jay. Of course that was it. I knew that issue but hadn't checked my Photo settings. Doh. I rarely use filters so it never occured to me to check. Yep, somehow the little filter slider was no longer on "Normal".
