Re: How can I refresh a folder on Windows and Android?

How can I refresh a folder on Windows and Android?

Hi,

Firstly, I really like Dropbox and I use it a lot. However, it is lacking a feature which would prevent problems.

Both the Android and Windows lack a refresh button when viewing a folder.

For example, if I rename a folder and add some new files to the folder. I tell my wife that her scanned document, which she is desperate to email to somebody, is in the new folder but when she visits the folder it just shows the old folder name and the new file is missing.  She knows its in there but it does not show; because there is no "Refresh Folder" button there seems now way to fix the problem.

Any suggestions for an interim solution?

Hey @NickPT, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.

While there's no such option for Android, there is in fact a refresh option on Windows.

If you open a folder and right click anywhere in the folder (but not n a specific file), you should see a "refresh" option.

However, keep in mind that the changes you're making will need to sync first, in order for them to be available in your account online and other connected devices.

When the files you add do not appear on your wife's device, is it possible that they haven't synced on your end yet?

Keep me posted.

Thank you Hanna for your reply, I will accept this as a solution to my question.

Dropbox really does need a "Folder Refresh" feature for Android devices.

Does Dropbox provide a suggestions/report bugs area?
