Is there a definitive answer to whether deleting files from Dropbox will also delete those files from my hard drive? Also, if I can safely delete ONLY from Dropbox, this does not free up space?? I can’t further use Dropbox without upgrading? Like other community posts here, I never intended for Dropbox to retrieve the files, documents, and pics that it did from my hard drive!!

Hey @jackyan, thanks for nudging us here.

This means that the folder you're trying to remove yourself from, is not the one that's shared. You'll need to follow these steps on the parent folder of that folder.

Can you try and let me know what you see?

Thanks!

Hi @Hannah, thank you for responding. Unfortunately I do need the other files in the parent folder to be available to others, so it won’t be something I dare experiment with. Thank you for clarifying that there is a difference.
