Hi, I have 46 (now 68) files still trying to sync, I have tried the following, been happening for about a week.
- It is only happening on one device
Dropbox version - 123.4.4832
- Downloading and installing drop box again
- Fix Hardlinks
- Fix Permissions
I have done all of the things multiple times, left the computer on over night after fix permissions, it was stuck on 23230 files, rebooted and it was stuck on 46 files. I did some work last night now it is stuck on 68 files.
Drop box says no sync errors
I have tried to follow https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/desktop/high-cpu-usage - Step 7
Symlinks are causing issues - but the command line lines do nothing and I am not intentionally doing any symlinks.
here is a screen shot
So this is a new computer I set up in August of 2020, and drop box has been working perfectly till about May of 2021. I have not moved the Dropbox folder since I originally installed it.
I am the administrator and am the only account on the machine, so yes, I assume I installed with admin permissions. I did not however, right click on the install file and choose "run as administrator".
The files I added that are not syncing are in a folder, not the root. I haven't tried adding and removing from there.
So I added somethings to my work computer that are on my Home computer (home computer is the machine having an issue).
The things added to the work computer synced fine to the home computer. But things I added to the home computer are not uploading.
It is not a specific folder or file, I have removed something from the main drop box folder, and it is not syncing. it's also like it is stuck on a file, and can't get past it. Is there a way to see what file dropbox is trying to sync.
Correction: I just shut down dropbox and restarted. It went from the 80 something files back to 48 files. The new files I made along with the the files I moved out and back in are now synced. But it is still stuck at 48 files until I move something out and then back in and the new files won't sync until I reboot or restart the app. @Jay
