I know this is what Dropbox Invoice was up to, and I wished that I was able to continue that service. There are lots of creators out here that need and have to share files with clients all the time, but need to safeguard our final deliverable files until final payment is received. In my industry there are a few 3rd party paywall services, but they all require another upload and extra file management that is frankly wasteful. Filepass and Hitsend.io are the two that I know of. I've tried them both, and I believe that for someone who is steeped in Dropbox workflow offering a product would streamline our workflow and keep the client and the creator from having to create and manage fewer file sets.
I truly wish Dropbox Invoice didn't get the axe, It is exactly what most of us individual creative folks need. It would cut down at least 2 other subscriptions out of most of our lives. Overall saving us money and removing the tension between bookkeeping/invoicing from the daily file management and payment processing and creating a single point of access for most of our needs.
