Dropbox for Gmail add-on: changing the filename

Dropbox for Gmail add-on: changing the filename

This add-on is tremendously useful, thank you. My only request would be the option to change the filename right there in the add-on, rather than having to upload the file from the integration, then go to Dropbox to change the name.

Hey!

I heavily use the "save to Dropbox" option in Gmail (using Chrome on macOS if that matters). I can choose a location and create new folders, which are amazing features; what I am missing is that I can save the file under a different name.

E.g., for invoices for my company, I always need to prefix invoices for the accountant. Currently, I have to switch from Gmail to Dropbox, browse for the file, and then rename it. Having a "save as ..." right inside the popup that opens up on the "save to Dropbox" would save me much time.

Thanks a lot and all the best!

Another function I would appreciate is possibility to change name of attachment when I save it via gmail addon.

Oftenly I recive  pdf scan with non sense title and saving it directly to dropbox via gmail addon is useless if I must after go to dropbox www find it and change its name....
In this case I prefer save it directly to my pc cause I can in same time save it with name I want.

What I don t understand is for example many website proposing to convert files from/to pdf are already using this intelligent search, so it look like this function is easily available, why can t it be included in gmail addon?

I can not agree more with @lud and @ECPerkins

If i can save a file and have an option of editing the name would be such a help, as Gmail and Dropbox are my clouds for files.

How often does anyone ever email you a document that conveniently meets your own file naming system?
NEVER.

Please please please DropBox, being able to change the file name at the time of saving  from email would actually make this integration useful. As it stands, it's easier to save a randomly named file into my downloads folder (at least I can find it quickly from there), rename it, and then cut and paste it to the desired location.
