SalesForce Template Configuration/Setup

When creating templates in SalesForce, the admin configuring the template selects from which object the template should be accessible, however only one object can be selected. Not all our users send templates from the same object, this will depend on their role/title. We would like to be able to either clone a template with its configuration (all fields merge and non-merge) and settings to other objects or have the ability to select multiple objects from where the template can be accessed upon setting it up.

In the case of existing templates, being able to make the edit once, which will then reflect in the different objects where this is being used.
