View total number of files within a folder on the website

I'd love the ability to view the total number of files within a folder upon opening a folder, not just the total folder size. When I inquired about this in chat, the representative told me I needed to download your desktop application, but I use my work computer primarily and don't feel comfortable downloading an external application that is not work-related. Additionally, this seems like a feature that should be available for your customers who only access their files via your website. Thanks!

I'm using Dropbox online to store 600+ GB of files. When I access any given folder, I've learned how to determine the size of any folder or individual file. What I can't figure out is how to determine the number of files in any folder. This would include a folder with multiple sub-folders where the number of files in Folder A includes the number of files in all sub-folders. I'm unable to use File Explorer because my SSD drive is only 500GB. The number of files is an extremely important piece of information along with the size feature when storing extremely large number of [many large] files in Dropbox. I have 2TB of data storage & this information will help me manage my data.

We utilize Dropbox system to upload thousands of images as a third and safe repository for a very large art collection.  However, there is no easy way to get a count of the number of images within the folders that we have created.  There are very few inconsistencies during the upload process however it is impossible to sit and count the number of images manually.  We need a feature that simply displays the number of images in each folder. To date, we have uploaded close to 60,000 images with more to come.  Please let me know if this feature can be made available and if so, how long will it take to implement.  Thank you very much.

I'm told by Dropbox Support that I have too many files. So I'm trying to reduce by syncing folders locally, and compressing large folders into zip files. But since I've removed a large amount of my data from the hard drive with Selective Sync, I can't really see how far away I am from my goal.

If this is intensive processing, maybe it doesn't need to happen on the fly. It doesn't need to be visible except if you ask for the data. So something like the MacOS 'Get Info' panel might be the solution.
