Get en e-mail when people add files to my requests folder

New member | Level 2

Hi! I use request folders to let my client upload files. But the problem is two things:

1. The folder doesn't show that there has been a transfer, it says "0 transfers"

2. I wanna get a mail or a notification when files are uploaded to my request folders, is there a way to activate that?

Hey there @TmeStrndbrg - how are you today?

From the looks of it, your client hasn't succesfully uploaded anything to your File requests' folder - this would explain why you don't see any files in there and that you didn't receive an email notification about it (you normally get notified when files are uploaded to your file requests' folders) - could that be the case?

If not, please provide some additional information about this so we can further investigate.

Thank you!

Hi!

Yes they have. And the files are there, but the folder still show 0 and I do not get any mails. And I can't find where to activate mail notification for uploaded files.

Please see screenshots, it's in swedish.

Did you actually send a File Request to your client, or did you just invite them to a share folder?

Looking at your screentshot, the folder has three members in the folder, which indicates this is a shared folder. If you invited your client to this folder then they would be able to add files to it, but you would not receive an email notification because the files weren't added through the File Request process.

Hey! The problem is solved, I got it all wrong. BUT is it possible to make several people get a mail when the requested file is uploaded?

There is a notification for activity in a shared folder, but it is a weekly digest. There is no feature to send an email every time a file is uploaded.

As part of File Request is there an option to ask a question and receive and an answer. Such as what is your email address or account number.  Currently have no way of contacting those that have loaded up their images as part of a photo contest.

Hey @iainGorman1, thanks for checking in with us!

Although there's currently no way for a requester to see the email address of those that submit via file requests, what you can do is ask users to include their full name in the First name section and their email in the Last name

That way, when you go to your folder and find a list of submitted files, you'll see from your end the submitted files' names include:

  • The names of the users.
  • Their emails.
  • The name of the file as they were submitted.

I understand that this is only a workaround, but I hope it helps to some extent.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
