Re: Online my account is full but on the desktop app it shows less space is used.

I gave up my premium subscription of Dropbox a few years ago, but still use the free service for some personal things. I have the standard 2GB of space, plus 0.75GB of bonus space.

I’m suffering from what seems to be a common problem on Dropbox, which is that it’s reporting being out of space when it shouldn’t. I’m fully aware that space is used up for many reasons, but I’ve systematically gone through everything. I have no shared folders, no backup folder settings nor deleted files pending permanent deletion. I’ve also reduced my Dropbox use to a single computer.

In the web-based interface to Dropbox, User>Manage Accounts shows that I have 34.2MB of standard files, 2.7GB of backup files. So, while I have no backup folders set, I clearly have something attributed to backup which is using up nearly all my quota. I don’t see anywhere in the web or desktop interface to identify what this backup is, or provide the ability delete it.

Any advice appreciated.

/Warren
