Storage Space

My dropbox storage is getting full by the Shared files..
So i have few shared files with my colleagues, but my personal dropbox storage is full from these shared files...
What is wrong here?
Hey @Abdelrahman Kamel, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community,
If your plan tab reports that your space is taken up by shared files, you'll need to look into what shared folders you have.
If you see folders with the two people icon in your account, it means they are shared and are taking up your space.
To see how much space each of them is taking up, you can follow the steps here.
And if you need to remove a shared folder from your account to free up space, you can follow the steps here.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Dear Hannah,
Thanks for your support.
Now it's cleared to me.
However, how can i now have access to these shared files so i can work with my colleagues, without taking up from my Dropbox Space?
Thanks again for your kind support.
Dear Hannah,
To calirfy more about the issue, Im invited to access this file, and still it's taking up from my storage..
Happy to clarify this, Abdelrahman!
When you're invited to a folder, you're getting permission to edit the folder, thus it gets added to your account and that's why it takes up space.
You'd need to either get some extra space, or the person who invited you, can share the folder through a view-only link and then send you a file request, if you need to upload files to their account.

So, if the person that invited me to this folder, even if he/she uses the Family Plan,
It would still be necessary to add more space or make a upgrade in the account?
Hi @Fabio Ascencio, shared folders take up quota on all active members' accounts, so if the folder is greater than your current quota limit, then you'd need to upgrade your account in order to add it to your account.
