Account Access
6 TopicsDropbox saying it's full, when it's completely empty
Hi Dropbox Community, Looking help. I read several post, and tried several things found on this post but my problem is still there. I’m encountering an issue with my storage space. I have a FREE account with 11.5 GB. I referred a few friends a long time ago and did everything possible at the time to increase my FREE account limit, so now it's set at 11.5 GB which I like very much, however I’ve deleted several files from my Dropbox several months ago, but my available storage space hasn’t updated. It still showing as 108% full. I removed Dropbox and folders from 4 other devices (PC and iOS), and removed the app from my WD My Cloud NAS. I’ve tried logging in and out, reviewing the account set-up and removed all the old apps that were sync (Bamboo Paper, pdfReader, Word, Excel, etc) and checking the deleted files folder, but the problem still persists. My limit is currently at 11.5 Gb, and I fear that if I delete my account, and try logging back in, I will find myself with the basic free 2GB which I don't want. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any tips or steps to get the storage space to update correctly? Thank you,Solved38Views0likes2CommentsI can't access my photos, as I'm being asked to upgrade my Dropbox account.
I REALLY need help, please. A very long time ago my wife and I wanted to put our photos, many of them precious, in a safe place. She suggested putting them om a USB but I said we should put them on something called "Dropbox" It was free and safe. What a fool I was. Over time it said my account was "getting " full so I deleted as many things as I could and things were fine. Then without using my account much at all I went to it and it says it's full and I have to pay a large sum of money, which I don't have, in order to get into my account. It seems like kidnapping. If I were to pay the money I don't even know if I could get my photos back without deleting them all. The only thing I can think of is, paying the ransom, downloading the photos to my hard drive, moving them to a USB (my PC is old and I can't fit in a USB and a wireless USB in at the same time) and terminating my account. Even then I'm afraid I will lose everything because it says that by terminating your account all of your data will be deleted. I really don"t know what to do. Wow, do I feel like u sucker.620Views0likes19CommentsMy Dropbox Account Disappeared! I had 5TB of files that now show as 2GB.

When I log into Dropbox I see the home screen for about 3 seconds then the "Upgrade your plan" screen appears. I select basic plan again and then it reloads the home screen and about 3 seconds later it again loads the "upgrade your plan" screen and forever cycles through this process. I can't get into my documents. I only have about half a gigabyte of space used. this is so stupid.743Views0likes16CommentsI cannot access my backups to delete them and continue using my account
I used dropbox mostly to share files between my iPhone and laptop or PC. When the suggestion was emailed me to back up all my files in my account, I had thought "Why not?" I soon found out that my account maxed out, and when my account was frozen for having no more space, there were attempts I made to discard the backed up system files, but I've never been able to get any further use of that account. My original account was with sbcglobal.net email address. I eventually linked that with my umich.edu account, and that account doesn't allow alumnus use of the dropbox arrangement the university has. Since my sbcglobal account is linked to the umich.edu account, I cannot get to my backed up system files to delete them. I have a terabyte external backup drive for system files, and don't need them in dropbox. But I cannot use my account at all. Any suggestions?210Views0likes1CommentCan't access my Dropbox account to delete the backup that takes up space from it
Dropbox tried to backup my computer to a free account. Needless to say I ran out of space. I found and changed the option to backup. I got a message about deleting my files. It would have been fine to delete the backup but did not want to delete my shared files on Dropbox so I stopped. Now can not even open my Dropbox account. When I click open I get a spinning wheel that goes away but no Dropbox. 1) need to get back into my account 2) need to delete the backup files Thanks.512Views0likes3Comments
