Hello again! Man it was so hot today I donāt think Iāll sleep again tonite. Another thing I wanted to share and maybe the most important thing I want to say is that I tried to login to my account after a long time (you know why š), and my password expired. Normally you can reset it with an email that they send to your email like this https://help.dropbox.com/accounts-billing/settings-sign-in/expired-password but the email I had was closed, so I couldnāt get a new password and I thought I was doomed. But the Dropbox people were able to help me reset it because I knew my Dropbox password. This was so great! Once I got in to my account, I changed my email address to my new one right off the bat. When I logged in to my account all my files were missing. Like gone man. I was so upset because I had many pictures and music in there from the old days. I checked my email address in my accountās settings (hereās how https://help.dropbox.com/accounts-billing/settings-sign-in/account-settings) and it turns out I had logged in to the wrong account with a different email. I signed out and then signed in with the right email and I found my stuff all there. Whew!!! Also, I have my own computer now, a Dell Latitude 5400 laptop (it kind of sucks), but until I got it, I had to use other computers. I guess Dropbox knows when you are not using your computer because they wanted to send me a code (they called it a one time security code and it was 6 numbers long) to my email to let me sign in. I didnāt have that email either so the Dropbox people helped me get in my account again. Those guys are way cool! Anyway, I guess free dropboxes canāt email dropbox anymore, but I was able to send them a message from the canāt sign in to my account page at this internet address https://www.dropbox.com/support/sign-in-issues. One time they didnāt email me back, but I posted a message on facebook and those guys helped. Man I am using facebook now. Weird haha! And to end this session, Iāll tell you about my other dropbox account that was deleted. While I was away on my long vacation š I didnāt use my account for a long time. From what I understand you have to use your account at least one time a year. If you donāt, dropbox will send you emails that they will close your account. Well since I didnāt check my emails and didnāt sign in for more than one year, they closed my dropbox. They consider that an inactive account, and after they delete it there is no way to get it back or your files and stuff. This is a general question for admins in organizations using Dropbox for Business. How do you support users who are having Dropbox syncing issues on Windows endpoints? I have been creating a screen sharing session where I can investigate syncing issues on the endpoint. It seems to me that Dropbox for Business is missing some kind of telemetry from endpoints that gives status on sync health back to the admin console. Something that reported back every 15 mins would be better than flying blind. I would even take a log file saved into the AppData folder that logged sync status when it wasn't "finished". Beware. We ran into this issue while trying to document a different issue. Apparently the three devices counts any device which was logged in in the past and never explicitly logged out. My wife had two devices currently in use, her laptop on which she could not sign in, and her phone on which she had closed the app. But she had a prior laptop and tablet, on both of which she had used Dropbox before. Opening the Dropbox app on her phone, she then explicitly signed out there, THEN she could sign in on her laptop. Then it gets interesting. On sign-in, she was plopped into the setup sequence, even though she had used Dropbox on that laptop just days before. There appeared to be no way to escape it, so we went through.
