Admin Console
24 TopicsFolders not visible to Admins
We have outsourced the Team Admin role on our business account to a 3rd party. We want to see the totality of folders and subfolders etc. that have been created in our Dropbox Business Standard account. Our Team Admin says they can't see all root level folders unless they have been given specific permission to view them. Is that correct? Is there a way for an Admin to see all folders that have been created without having to assign them read permissions to every folder? How can we assign permissions to folders we can't see and don't know if they exist?Solved6KViews0likes8CommentsAdmin Console Questions
In Admin Console, under Members, I see "People with your team's email domain" and "People your team works with". Both of these areas show lists of people who are either no longer with my company or we no longer work with them. I can't seem to figure out what is causing users to show up in these areas. How do I track this down and remove these users so that they no longer show up. Thank you3KViews0likes8CommentsLost the ability to manage shares as admin
Hi everyone! I'm quite confused since Dropbox seemed to get rid of one of our most used admin-features. In the past (until early march) i was able to browse and search folders which are shared between users, even if i (as an admin) did not have any permissions to them. I could then click "manage" and change ownership, add/remove users, etc, but couldn't browse the content (via this page https://www.dropbox.com/team/admin/content/home). This resulted in a notification to the owner of the share. Now, this feature seems to be completely gone. I already had a discussion with the support-team via mail. I'm not sure if they got what i was referring to, but the statement was "there was propably a change, it's not possible". Actually i am quite shocked that this was removed without any notice (at least i can't find anything). We can't be the only company using and missing this feature, right? It was quite elemental for our daily user-support until now. Am i missing something here? Is it still somehow possible to administrate all shared folders without being authorized by the owner? I dont know where this question is supposed to go. Please excuse me if i am in the wrong place. I created a team and 2 team folders. I invited team members. One of them has accepted and shows on the admin dashboard as a member. She can see the team folders but the icons are grayed out and she cannot access them. What can i do to give her access?Solved1.9KViews0likes6CommentsIs it possible to discover and claim accounts that use corporate email addresses?
I'm a sysadmin for a startup business, and I'm trying to unify all of our cloud tools and accounts. I'm trying find out how many of our employees have created "personal" drop box accounts using their business email address. Is it possible to discover and claim accounts using our domain email address if I sign up for a Dropbox "Team" account, or is there another tier that this is possible with?Solved1.4KViews0likes2CommentsAccidental Folder Move Prevention on Dropbox Business team
Our company uses Dropbox for Business. Currently our folder structure is Lawyers and then under that we have Amy, Brian, Chris, etc (the names of the lawyers). The under each lawyer we have dozens of different subfolders for the different cases. The other day an employee accidentally dragged Chris into Brian and it caused us to be down as thousands of files were moved and then we had to move them back and wait for everything to sync to everyone's computers. I'm wondering if we can limit this kind of damage by moving Amy, Brian, Chris, etc to the top level and then changing the setting Admin console, Settings, Content, Top-level content management from Everyone to Only Admins. Then they wouldn't be able to move Chris to Brian if they're not an admin. They would still be able to work as they are now and edit the subfolders and files, correct?1.3KViews0likes8CommentsUnderstanding this message in activity log
