Paper: Find + Replace (with blanks) doesn't work
Device: Macbook Operating System/Browser (if using the web): macOS Tahoe 26.3.1, Chrome Dropbox App Version: Paper Question or Issue Whenever I try using Find & Replace in Dropbox Paper, I can’t seem to replace text with nothing (leave the replacement field blank) the way I can in MS Word/Google Docs. e.g. if I want to quickly remove a recurring character, extra spaces, or formatting marker across a document, Paper doesn’t let me do a blank replace, which makes cleanup much harder than it needs to be.41Views0likes1Comment
No search by content of Paper documents
Hi! I was an active user of Dropbox Paper for many years and I have many important documents stored there. Previously, there was a keyword search function in search for the entire contents of all files. After the latest change, the search only searches by document name. My Dropbox Paper files have disappeared, but there are still placeholder links in the Paper app.
Hi, I have Dropbox paper files from way back, before the migration a year ago. Therefore, for the past year(s), I had a Migrated Paper Files folder in my Dropbox. My files disappeared, all except one I updated regularly. I have no idea where they are. Is there some place I can find my paper files? Please note...I did not delete them. The file just isn't there anymore, but if I open Fropbox Paper App, the links as placeholders are there to all of my paper files, and when I click to open - there is an error 'Something went wrong' or 'Look in deleted files'. I've lost my Dropbox Paper documents, how can I get them back?
Hello. A few weeks ago I noticed that I lost all my Dropbox Paper documents. I have been using this application for years and I really like it. The documents contain important information for my work and it is a big problem for me. After a few days, some of the documents started to appear again, but it is only a small part. I can't find an official statement from Dropbox anywhere. I tried the usual procedures and those I found on the forums, but nothing helped. A small part of the documents came back, but the vast majority of them are gone. Can anyone please advise me or direct me? Impossible to select and copy/paste text in Dropbox Paper on the web
Since yesterday it is impossible for me to select and copy/paste text in my Dropbox paper documents. I can write, type, and modify it, but if I want to select an entire sentence to move it, I simply can't! Dropbox won't let me select a single word and that is a problem because I write on dropbox and then publish the texts on another website (I can't just download the text in pdf to import it to the other website as pdf isn't supported there.) I checked on other softwares and my mouse, it comes from Dropbox. I am on windows and using the dropbox website, not the computer application. How do I add link previews into Dropbox Paper?
I have a Paper doc that I created a couple of months ago, and at the time I added some links to various websites. These links gave me the option of creating a preview of the site, so I added those. Now, for some reason, when I add new links I don't get any such option and I cannot figure out why. Is this broken? Was it a temporary feature? Is there any way to troubleshoot? I've been been searching and I cannot find any information on this (except very old posts from users compaining about the opposite - they don't want the previews...). Can anyone help? How can I insert two images side by side in a Paper document?
Hi I'm SO new to use Dropbox. I'd like you all to teach me how to make a good document. I wanna know about those below. 1. How to insert 2 or more pics side by side. I tried to put the other pic next to the first pic i inserted, but it always goes to another line like below or above. 2. How to change inserted pics sizes. I wanna insert pics in same size side by side, but always one pic is bigger and the document looks not professional. it'd be appreciated if there's any helpful tips too! Reorganizing Files on Laptop - Dropbox Paper Files now Deleted
Hi - pretty urgent issue here so I'll try to be thorough: Today I spent some time reorganizing the files on my macbook, and as I planned to start using Dropbox for specific file/media types, I started by dragging all the contents of my synced "Dropbox" folder to my macbook's local desktop folder. This seemed to go as expected. I then remembered that I had paused Dropbox's auto-sync and thus the files would still exist in my account, so I used the web app to delete them from Dropbox itself. I wanted to be sure my account was empty before I began selectively re-adding files and turning auto-sync back on. Here's where we get to the issue. The files which were drag and dropped into my desktop folder included 15-20 Dropbox Paper files. The .paper files still appear in those folders which were moved, but when I click them and the browser opens, Dropbox returns a 404. If I open the locally installed Paper app, they all appear in the side bar, but when i click one the screen prompts me to ask permission to access it. I've tried searching Deleted Files for them on the website, but they're not showing up. A search query of type:paper only shows a single document - one that was shared with me by someone else. How can I recover these Paper files? Many of them include important work notes that don't exist anywhere else. Thanks in advance!
