Dropbox Transfer
6 TopicsTurn off transfer notifications & emails globally
We love Dropbox transfers, but we don’t need an email saying that we just created a transfer, 5 seconds after we created a transfer. Transfer download notifications and emails are also extremely annoying. Some of our transfers are downloaded by dozens of people. I don’t need 50 emails plus 50 desktop alerts. We know that we can turn off download notifications for individual transfers, but we should be able to set this as a default. Please add transfers to the notifications page in settings so we can control these settings globally.205Views1like2CommentsShow full filenames for transfers under desktop app notifications.
As a UX person, it always hurts me when I see somewhere people hides useful information behind their nonsense thinking. It's like "Let's not think and do whatever you can" It's their Desktop APP notification about a Transfer download. "Your transfer was just downloaded" Do you guys have any clue what transfers are downloaded without clicking on the little button "Manage"? You are viewing notification on the app, but clicking on manage will get you to the browser and look below, Dropbox doesn't have enough room to show the full name of the transfer? I would like to fire the Dropbox UX guy and give him/her 100 lashes for this odd UX behavior. Is AI the Nonsense doing these? And guess what, they were able to show the name for the Transfers that are being expired. Amazing, right? But couldn't show the name of the Transfers those are downloaded which has more importance sometimes. Any Dropbox UX person out their to explain the situation. And I'm sorry how I wrote this up, but I've been using Dropbox for over a decade and I'm tired of this and finally took the time put it here. NB: I love this forum editor. It's the best among others I've used for a while. Thank you!114Views1like2CommentsDropbox Transfer: Include the name of the transfer to the downloaded item
Dear Dropbox Team, We would like to request a small improvement in Dropbox Transfer. In our business, we use Dropbox Transfer to deliver image assets to our customers. To help them easily identify each transfer, we label it with the corresponding order name. This allows our customers to quickly match the transfer with their order. However, when customers download the transfer, the saved file has a different, generic name. Some customers have reported that this causes inconvenience, as they struggle to recognize their folders later on. We would like to request an improvement: When a transfer is downloaded, could the downloaded folder be named based on the transfer name? For example, if we name a transfer #138742146, it is currently saved as Transfer-3.zip or a similar generic name. Instead, could it be saved as #138742146.zip? We serve thousands of customers using Dropbox, and this small change would have a significant positive impact on their experience. We appreciate your consideration and hope this improvement can be implemented soon. This was proposed few years ago I see, but has not been implemented. Seems like such an obvious and simple feature! It would be great if each transfer could have customisable, unique for this transfer and permanent for this transfer background (and possibly thumbnail). This would be a very useful feature, for client to see a background unique to them while downloading their transfer.89Views0likes4CommentsCan you expand the character limit in title for Dropbox Transfer?
Dropbox Transfer only accepts 21 characters in the title (in the transfer widget not regular Dropbox sharing). It would be great if this can be expanded to more characters. Some companies that I send files to require specific words in the file names for versioning. ID, date, etc so file names become long.85Views1like1CommentDropboxTransfer: viewing a list of past Transfers in a more specialized and clear log format.
78Views0likes1Comment
