The new Transfer window animation is S-L-O-W!
The new Transfer Window animation where it animates the files being packaged up in a gift box is unnecessary and is adding sometimes upwards of 15 seconds while I wait for the "copy link" button to be available. This used to be a nearly instantaneous process with no delay. All of my files are already uploaded to dropbox and indicate this with a green check-mark in my dropbox folder on my mac. Then, when I choose "Transfer a Copy", and then click on "Create Link" in the bottom right of the Dropbox Transfer window that opens, I sometimes have to wait 15 seconds for the silly new animation to finish. Why? This aspect of Transfer worked perfectly before. This slow-down in functionality seems un-necessary. Please get rid of the anmiation and just allow us to get quick access to the link so we can copy it and email our clients. Thank you.
Network error downloading large files with Dropbox Transfer
I received a "protected" link with a few files from a client. I'm required to sign in to access large documents. However, upon signing in (with the correct credentials), the following message is displayed: Network Error! Please verify your information and try again How do I fix this? I've tried multiple browsers (including in private/incognito modes), cleared cache and history, closed all extensions, turned on and off VPNs, changed my password but nothing works.
Can deleted photos be retrieved from Deleted Files?
3 days ago I deleted some individual in-named, un-filed single iPhone uploaded pictures. A few minutes ago I tried retrieving some from the deleted files section and after adjusting the filters, nothing came up. (1)Is there a grace period for retrieving? (2)Are deleted files the only items retrievable and not individual un-filed pictures? Iâm a bit confused as to (3)what the difference between files and phone uploads and camera uploads are other than the obvious, deleting un-filed un-named singles individually to files having a name, files holding multiple pictures and ability to delete a whole file with pics all at once. (5)But with it being called â Deleted Filesâ, are they all considered the same when deleting and retrieving them? It seems that Dropbox puts all my uploaded unfiled and un-named singles under camera uploads or phone uploads, (6)which I suppose, they could be considered pre-named Dropbox files (7)Not sure if I can delete pictures as a whole from these (files?) (8)because when opened, the two prenamed dropbox file formats look different than that of a file I named. (9)Dropboxâs Camera uploads and Phone uploads (files?) would make more sense to me if i uploaded photos with a secondary device like a Nikon camera orâŠ..a Cannon. But all my Dropbox photo uploads are sourced from my iPhone camera. So that too is a bit confusing because I donât choose where my singles go. They just go. Sometimes they go to both prenamed Dropbox (files?) Iâve had Dropbox for 10 years. (10)Looking for answers.
Quitting the transfer window: "Your Files Are Ready To Send" window quits Dropbox on Mac
I think this is new behavior....and maybe, this could be a cause of what some of us are referring to as "quiet crashes" where we notice that the dropbox app is no longer running or showing on the menu bar...on a Mac. When I perform a transfer-a-copy of a file, and it brings up the floating "Transfer" window, and then I complete that process of confirming the file, and then choosing to copy the link, that window will continue to float in front on my mac. Command-W does not close that window. Also, when that window is active, and the front-most window, the computer still indicates that the Finder is the active app on the menubar. Now, I can close that transfer window by clicking on the red "x" button in the upper left of the window, or I can press command-q on my keyboard but THAT QUITS DROPBOX! I think that THIS is potentially what has been problematic of lately. I don't recall this being the behavior in the past. Why is command-q "quitting" the transfer window causing Dropbox App on the menu bar to quit and shutdown? As I said, when the transfer window is active, it does not indicate to the mac that it is part of dorpbox in that it does not populate the options of the mac menu system. The active app is not Dropbox etc. I have been using dropbox for a long time, and I do not recall this being the behavior of closing the transfer window with command-q and it shutting down the whole DropBox system.Why are my Dropbox Transfers showing as viewed?
This should be a simple solution but hard to find an aswer, here is my scenario: I send a test file "mskeys.txt", I put in my email address which is my companys email. I do not send this file to anyone, I do not share this file to any one. Here is my question, why is it that it reads 16 views, and 2 dowloads? I also tested this scenario with someone else and they had the same results, on a diffrent account, diffrent PC, diffrent email..whos viewing my file and who is dowloading my files?Allow multiple Dropbox Transfer owners or to have the ability to send a Transfer as a team.
Would like to see a way to share ownership of a Transfer. We have a team that uses Transfer regularly to send files externally, but have no way for those team members to know what each person sent (they are not admins, nor should they be). Is it possible to create co-owners of Transfers to allow multiple individuals to manage Transfers together? Or send Transfers from a "team" rather than an individual user?
Remove "Login/SignUp" Popup window from dropbox transfer link
Hello, I just now noticed that as a paid user, everytime we send a client of ours a dropbox transfer link with our own branding, it upsells our own clients! With some pop up box about some log in into dropbox. I now that it has a "download only" on the bottom but this is not reseonable. We are users that pay dropbox for a service, dont upsell our own clients. I kindly ask the removal of this feature asap.
