Dropbox Transfer
173 TopicsRemove login pop-up on Dropbox transfer downloads
This has been complained about numerous times and it is absurd that Dropbox seemingly refuses to change this. I've received so many complaints from clients with regards to them claiming they need to signup/give a password to download my transfers because the scummy "Or continue with download only" text is easily missable. Just allow people to click the link, view the files, and download without logging in. What else do I pay Dropbox for? I will move to another service soon if this is not changed.24Views0likes1CommentRequest to Reinstate Transfer Link in Dropbox Notification Emails
Hi, I hope you’re doing well. This is not a new idea, but rather a request to reinstate a feature that previously existed and, unfortunately, was removed sometime last year. In the past, when I created a Transfer from a Dropbox folder or file, I would receive an email titled “New Transfer: File Name”. That email included the transfer link directly in a copyable text box. This was extremely helpful, as it allowed me to quickly copy and resend the link - especially when clients asked for it again days later, or when I was away from my computer and needed access via my phone and Gmail. Today, the notification email no longer includes the transfer link. Instead, it contains a “Manage Transfer” button, which opens a browser window outside the email app - and not even the Dropbox app itself, which I have installed on my phone. This extra step makes it much harder and less accessible to quickly retrieve and resend a transfer link, particularly on mobile devices. As a dedicated Dropbox user since 2009, I truly appreciate the product and rely on it heavily in my workflow. Reintroducing the shareable transfer link directly within the email - as it previously existed - would be a simple yet powerful improvement. It offered a fast, intuitive way to access transfer links without having to navigate through multiple windows or menus. Thank you very much for your time and for considering this request. I received a dropbox transfer link from my photographer for my wedding pics but when I click "download" it just opens a link to the website but it stays loading. I haven't been able to see the pics or download them. I've also tried on 3 different devices, my phone, my mac and my work computer. This is what it looks like and they just simply don't load. Can someone help?56Views0likes4CommentsDropboxTransfer: viewing a list of past Transfers in a more specialized and clear log format.
85Views0likes1CommentShow full filenames for transfers under desktop app notifications.
As a UX person, it always hurts me when I see somewhere people hides useful information behind their nonsense thinking. It's like "Let's not think and do whatever you can" It's their Desktop APP notification about a Transfer download. "Your transfer was just downloaded" Do you guys have any clue what transfers are downloaded without clicking on the little button "Manage"? You are viewing notification on the app, but clicking on manage will get you to the browser and look below, Dropbox doesn't have enough room to show the full name of the transfer? I would like to fire the Dropbox UX guy and give him/her 100 lashes for this odd UX behavior. Is AI the Nonsense doing these? And guess what, they were able to show the name for the Transfers that are being expired. Amazing, right? But couldn't show the name of the Transfers those are downloaded which has more importance sometimes. Any Dropbox UX person out their to explain the situation. And I'm sorry how I wrote this up, but I've been using Dropbox for over a decade and I'm tired of this and finally took the time put it here. NB: I love this forum editor. It's the best among others I've used for a while. Thank you!121Views1like2CommentsCan't Copy from Dropbox to Google Drive
I'm trying to copy some photos and an InDesign file from a Dropbox folder to a Google Drive folder and am getting an error that says "this file has properties that can't be copied to the new location" and asks me if I'd like to remove those properties and continue or cancel the copy action. I've found quite a few answers online that suspect this is a file system issue (NTFS vs FAT) but those scenarios were always people trying to copy from Dropbox on a local drive to a folder on an external drive. My Dropbox and Google Drive folders are both stored locally on my laptop, so they should both be using the same file system, right? I'm asking this here instead of Google forums because I was able to copy/paste files from a OneDrive folder to Google Drive with no issue, so I'm suspecting it's a Dropbox issue?Solved3.7KViews0likes4Comments
