I am the tech lead for my church and I have people who take photos of services and events. I wanted to use Dropbox as a place where they could upload their photos and the Pastor and I could get them to use for our website and other multi-media uses. I personally upgraded to a 3TB plan so that I would have plenty of space for them to be able to share their photos and videos without the need to do so in small chunks requiring me to keep going in there and removing them. I wasn't aware that Dropbox counts shared folders against their storage space allotted. IF this is indeed the case, I'm going to want a full refund of the year I purchased in advanced. I don't like shady scummy practices like that. I have worked in consulting for years and have had companies use their file share services to share files with me and I could create new accounts there and get what I needed without ever running into anything like this. So I'm first of all wondering if there is a better way of doing this? Why should my entire team pay for the same space that I already purchased? I really hope someone has a solution that can work. Thanks in advance.1.4KViews1like8CommentsHow can I figure out which files/folders take up space on my Dropbox account?

If I store entiore 22 GB data out of given 22 GB (20 given under promotion by Dell) within the next 12 months and after that if I didn't opted for subscription to increase my free limit of 2 GB storage per account then will Dropbox remove data of 20 GB or will I have continued access to my data even after promotional period of 12 months.Solved434Views0likes4CommentsGot a message that my account is nearly full but what is Dropbox and how does it work?
Can someone offer a very simple exclamation without any technical language of what drop boxes and how it works. I'm not knowingly using it but I do use MSone drive and iCloud , I keep getting messages saying it's nearly full but I don't know what is nearly full! Also trying to find a telephone number to dropbox to speak to someone but it doesn't seem to be possible does anyone know of a number? This is probably a simple question, but I haven't been able to find a clear answer. We just created a business account for our small team. We often work with freelancers who need access to edit and upload files in certain project folders. If we share one of these folders with edit access to someone outside our team and they add content to the folder in our team folder, does this utilize their personal dropbox space or ours? Thanks!Solved878Views0likes5CommentsI removed all my files, but I'm still using 30 GB on my 2.25 GB of quota, why?
Hi colleagues, I have problem with storage capacity. I already moved all documents from my dropbox, but the system always indicates full storage 30gb of 2,25gb. How can I solve this problem? Should I reinstall dropbox from my computer or are there any other possibillities to solve that? Thank you for all up-coming ideas.412Views0likes2CommentsI'm not sure how quota is calculated with different Basic accounts
I'm a person (not a business) with several Dropbox accounts, linked to different Gmail addresses, for different purposes. I've had Dropbox Plus for one specific project. But it's a big expense for me. Last week, with my renewal date approaching, I wanted to see how much storage I was actually using. It was a challenge to access my own account details, payment history, and upfront price info — an unnecessarily complex process that felt a bit deliberate. But I finally saw this: PERSONAL DROPBOX SPACE USING 4.1GB OF 2 TB That is, I'm using only 4.1% of what I was paying to have Plus. Even adding more files in the future, I couldn't use 2TB in a million years. That's unwise for me. So I cancelled my upcoming Plus renewal (that is, I downgraded that account). When I got a warning today, I double-checked. Now, I'm suddenly OVER capacity — because Basic's measured in GB, not TB. Now, I have to buy 1,000x MORE storage than I actually need, because Dropbox offers no middle ground. And the website says: "(If you exceed capacity) we'll begin by deleting your most recent files to bring your account within the limit, working backward." Which, obviously, I want to avoid. This feels a bit bait-and-switchy. Here's the thing, though: I DO have those other, Basic Dropbox accounts — some with files, some empty. I can divide these files into my other accounts. But I'm hesitant. Could Dropbox combine all my files from all my accounts, then say I'm even MORE over capacity? (I mean, if everyone can have multiple free Dropbox accounts just by using different Gmail addresses, then nobody would have to pay for Dropbox at all. And THAT would be unwise for Dropbox. Thanks for any clarification.664Views0likes2Comments
