New to Dropbox ... I understand that Dropbox can perform OCR on my pdf (and other) files? Do I need to do something to make this happen? My workflow involves scanning paper directly to my Dropbox folder; which then syncs to my NAS (the NAS has Dropbox integration in its OS.) Or, scan and save to the NAS, which then syncs to Dropbox. In either of these scenarios (preferably both), will Dropbox automatically perform OCR so that the document is searchable on both the NAS and in the Dropbox cloud? If so, how do I make that happen?Solved4.4KViews2likes1CommentFinder search will only show files on "this mac" and not in the individual Dropbox folder
Hello, when I search for a common term on finder I often only want to see it within a specific Dropbox folder so I don't have to wade through every file containing that term on my entire mac. I've just gotten a new MacBook Pro and the finder search works fine for "This Mac" but when you select the individual dropbox folder it comes up blank. Any ideas?Solved1.9KViews2likes6CommentsWe can't open files from a shared folder, as we receive errors
A user has a DropBox shared folder that is used by everyone within an organization. When we try to access, for example, an Excel file from the shared folder in File Explorer, it tries to open in the Excel app but it freezes, never loads, and gives message (Excel is not responding) in which case, we use task manager to force quit Excel. Even during times that it may open (very rarely), it gives us the following error: Error 1: Microsoft Excel cannot access the file '.....'. There are several possible reasons: The file name or path does not exist, The file is being used by another program, The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook. So far, I have tried: -Uninstall / re-install DropBox app. -Sync status shows as 'All files are up to date' -Restart laptop. -Clear DropBox cache -Turn on Selective Sync -(The files are able to be opened from DropBox Online & if we download the individual files before opening.) We've opened a ticket with DropBox Support for the past month (about 3 tickets opened) but nobody is following up with us regarding this. Any help would be appreciated! -Solved611Views1like9Comments
