File access
495 TopicsSmall tip if you want to print a list of files in a Dropbox folder!
I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to print a list of files in a Dropbox folder. Turns out there is no such printing option. However, if you select all files with Ctrl + A, all subfolders and files will be selected. Then using Ctrl + C, copy to the clipboard. Next open a new blank Word document and paste (Ctrl +V) to the Word page. All text should appear from the Dropbox webpage. Delete whatever text is not relevant and you'll be left with a list of folders and files.12KViews1like12CommentsRequest to Reinstate Transfer Link in Dropbox Notification Emails
Hi, I hope you’re doing well. This is not a new idea, but rather a request to reinstate a feature that previously existed and, unfortunately, was removed sometime last year. In the past, when I created a Transfer from a Dropbox folder or file, I would receive an email titled “New Transfer: File Name”. That email included the transfer link directly in a copyable text box. This was extremely helpful, as it allowed me to quickly copy and resend the link - especially when clients asked for it again days later, or when I was away from my computer and needed access via my phone and Gmail. Today, the notification email no longer includes the transfer link. Instead, it contains a “Manage Transfer” button, which opens a browser window outside the email app - and not even the Dropbox app itself, which I have installed on my phone. This extra step makes it much harder and less accessible to quickly retrieve and resend a transfer link, particularly on mobile devices. As a dedicated Dropbox user since 2009, I truly appreciate the product and rely on it heavily in my workflow. Reintroducing the shareable transfer link directly within the email - as it previously existed - would be a simple yet powerful improvement. It offered a fast, intuitive way to access transfer links without having to navigate through multiple windows or menus. Thank you very much for your time and for considering this request. I have losted a extremely important folder which includes all of my book keeping & accounting info. When I notified my accountant we'd like to switch our accounting service to another accountant, he had then deleted that folder immediately with out our authroisation. He set up the folder, then shared with us. We have the right to view and edit the folder, and everything in the folder is our accounting information. Hope someone can advise and help us!4.4KViews0likes5CommentsI can't see files that were shared with me in my account

Question or Issue Today, on 12/14, I paid for my annual Dropbox Plus subscription ($119.88/year). I then went back to File Explorer, only to find that my Dropbox folders, which were originally syncing there, are now MISSING. WHERE DID MY DROPBOX FOLDERS GO ON MY DESKTOP?? I'm a graduate student wrapping up my Fall semester and cannot find my documents. Unfortunately, Dropbox itself stopped syncing with my MS Surface after September because I missed my annual date to pay and did not realize it. Thus, the documents are not in Dropbox itself. They were, however, stored and updated under Dropbox in File Explorer on my MS Surface. I used Dropbox on the web. I pray that this community can please help me restore my files. I look forward to hearing from someone as soon as possible. Thank you!42Views0likes2CommentsCan I restore many files at once?
OK, here goes, looking for a one-in-a-million shot. And thank you very much to anyone who may answer me. I recently deleted almost all my word files in dropbox, through cyber-stupidity. Then I received an email saying I have thirty days to restore them. I eventually figured out that I can bring up "deleted files" and hit restore. But I want to go through hundreds of files to pick out many to restore, and my dropbox will only let me bring up twenty-five files for possible restoration, and will not let me scroll further to find other files to restore. By any chance, does someone out there with a LOT more computer knowledge than I possess, know how I can bring up deleted files and get the list to scroll all the way through the hundreds I have deleted so I can pick out a lot of them to restore? Again, I would be immensely grateful to receive a response. Heck, I'm such a computer dunce, I don't know that I'll be able to find the response if someone does reply to me. But again, thank you all for taking the time to read this note. Dave P.S. I have a Mac Mini.43Views0likes2CommentsI'm concerned about what will happen to my files after downgrading my account
Hello Dropbox Community Team, I’m writing to raise a serious concern regarding a written assurance from Dropbox support that now appears to be contradicted. At the time of using Dropbox, a Dropbox support assistant confirmed via email that I had unlimited storage for life, and that even if I changed plans in the future, my existing files would never be deleted. Over time, the cost of the newer plans became ridiculously expensive and simply not affordable for me. However, based on Dropbox’s assurance, I believed that at the very least, my existing files would remain safely stored on the platform, even if I could not continue on an upgraded plan. I’m now facing a situation where: My plan has shifted from unlimited to limited storage I’m receiving warnings about storage limits My files are being deleted or are at serious risk of deletion This directly contradicts the written assurance provided by Dropbox support and puts important personal and professional data at risk. I’m not asking for additional storage or new benefits — only that the files already uploaded under the original promise remain intact, as explicitly communicated by Dropbox. I respectfully request: Immediate protection or restoration of my existing files A clear explanation for why the earlier assurance is no longer being honored A fair resolution that respects the commitment made by Dropbox support I would appreciate this being reviewed and escalated by a Dropbox moderator or support representative. Thank you for your time and understanding. Chirag88Views2likes3CommentsWill my paid Dropbox Standard for Teams plan work the same as my free trial?
Question or Issue Hello, i had a trial priod of 30days for the standard plan for Teams. We have added my team, created folder etc.. everything is running fine. and we are happy hence i have updated my billing information too based on the number of licenses we have. What i want to ensure, is will it all remain the same (folders etc) when the trial period ends tomorrow? or do i need to add all the licenses again? i want to ensure there are no hiccups when the trial ends. Thanks. Kindest regards. AnuradhhaSolved39Views0likes3CommentsHow can I save or download all my files before downgrading my account?
Hi there, I want to stop the dropbox subscription for our non-profit organization but we have about 890 GB files . How can i best copy or download ALL files to a harddrive ? I have an old macOS Big Sur, version 11.7.10 in case that matters. I am not terribly tech savvy, a step by step guidance would be very helpful.. Thanks! Vera42Views0likes1Comment
