For people who use Dropbox Transfer a lot it would be helpful to have default settings that mean we are not notified when someone downloads a transfer, when a transfer is about to expire, etc etc. I do not understand why this is not an easy choice to make.3Views0likes0CommentsThe default notification settings on this forum should be set to "Never".
This should be set to never by default. It is not URGENT to get notifications about badges. It's just not. I do not care and I would assume most people just tryingto get answers to their quetions do not care either. For those that do care, they should opt in. Otherwise this is just spammy in my inbox. Thanks.46Views0likes1CommentSuppress or disable notifications at the team or group level
I am requesting a feature to disable notifications for all users or even better a group of users during a change management window (CMW). As example of a change management of migrating folders from personal shares to team folder shares. My current SOP is to block email notifications from no-reply@dropbox.com during my migration window, however notifications still go through to the desktop and web app. The e-mail hold captures messages unrelated to my migration as well which I am able to release for delivery. Ideally I could scope the suppression to a group and have it automatically expire based on a preset time. This secondary feature would prevent an admin from forgetting to enable notifications again after a CMW closes. Here is a forum link that points to others with a similar request https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001019/disable-all-notifications-as-team-admin-for-all-members-/65604571Views0likes1CommentShow notification icons on files that have comments
In "grid" layout, display an icon for each file that has comments against it. Suggested icon - styled similarly to the notification bell icon in the top menu, but shape is a speech bubble. Just like the notification icon shows a red dot when you have new notifications, and a white number within that dot telling you how many new notifications there are, the speech bubble icon should show a red dot when there are new/unread comments on the file and there should be a white number telling you how many new comments there are. Clicking the speech bubble causes the larger panel to appear on right of screen (as it currently does - at least currently for photos), but that panel should be shifted to the left and a new panel should open beside the file (ie on the very right edge of the screen) that shows the discussion thread for that file. At the bottom of that panel is a data entry area where you may start a new comment. Importantly, the speech bubble icon should be permanently displayed in the grid view and not rely on the mouseover action. In the event some users would prefer not to have this new icon displayed, provide a user setting where users may disable the permanent display of this icon. When permanent display is disabled, then the user must mouseover the file in the grid format in order to see the icon (similar to how the star icon only appears when you mouseover a file). Although I have described desktop here, similar functionality should be introduced to the mobile app also.169Views1like2CommentsGetting low space notifications when I have plenty of space
I am getting extremely tired of getting "You're running out of space!" notifications. I'm not running out of space. I have more than 1GB free. If these don't stop, I think I'll just move everything to iCloud Drive and delete Dropbox.Solved393Views0likes12CommentsHow do I end "Background items Added" notification and/or process?
I uninstalled Dropbox but keep getting this annoying notification on my mac that Dropbox is adding items that can run in the background even though the app is deleted and it is disabled in the appropriate setting. How do I get this to end once and for all? Thanks!Solved11KViews0likes19CommentsTurn off email notifications for file request uploads.
Hi there. We run a community radio station, and people are constantly uploading new audio files to us, so our email account is getting bombarded with notifications every time a new file arrives. We check our Dropbox account regularly, so these notifiations are completely unnecesssary, and we would like to have the option of turning them off. I looked through the Dropbox forums, and it appears as though other users have been requesting this feature for many years, but you still haven't implemented it! Can you pleae take this into consideration?290Views5likes4CommentsConstant notifications to update desktop app on Windows.
I am getting frequent notifications to update my Windows desktop Dropbox app, requesting permission to make changes to my system. It doesn't matter whether I respond yes or no, nothing happens after that. It just keeps happening over and over again.Solved18KViews5likes10Comments
