I have a personal dropbox under a personal email, but now my new company wants me to join and share their dropbox. How do I best do that? Do I need a totally new account with a different email address and log in, or can I add this new team folder to my existing personal account? The company invited me to my personal email, but when I clicked the invite I got these two strange choices that made no sense. One involved effectively transferring all of my personal files to the company team one (i think!)2.7KViews1like6CommentsPersonal account to Business account - All files gone
This will be a long post as I've never experienced any thing like this: 1.) I have had my personal Dropbox account for so many years and been paying the PRO-subscription for couple of years. It's all sorted out, some files offline, some online and I was using 1.2-1.4TB of 2.1-2.2TB available space. 2.) I also have a work email and that email is part of a team-Dropbox (business dropbox). I sometime use it to access work related stuff but I don't use it often 3.) My boss was trying to share some folder which would require 24/7 real time sync between us two (he is the admin account for my work-team-business Dropbox plan) but since I don't have my work Dropbox offline-synced I wanted to use my personal account or that BUT he couldn't share the folder with me because Dropbox said that email wasn't part of his Dropbox-Team. 4.) My boss deleted/removed my work email from the work Dropbox and added my personal account to his Dropbox-business/team account and paid about 10-15$ for it. Then things started to go south. 5.) I get this email saying I have to either A) Merge my personal dropbox to the work/business Dropbox or B) Keep them separate. 6.) I ofc choose separate but then Dropbox asks me to set the app up again on my computer and to choose a new place for me offline-Dropbox folder. 7.) I can't remember all of the things that happened but my files were gone, I had nothing in my personal account anymore, 1.2TB of data was gone. All of my pictures of my children and memories from the past years. So I panic and tell my boss to remove me BUT do it in the right way and convert my account back to a personal account like your website says it should be done. 8.) He does that and I can sign into my personal account again (removed per the Community's Guidelines) but still everything is gone and I have nothing in there. It says my data plan is 2GB a month.. I used to have 2.1TB a month! 9.) He then tried to add my old work email back to the team ) just to see what happens and I do that and all of a sudden I see all my personal files in the Dropbox.com website when logged in via my work email !!! 10.) Now I have two Dropbox folders on my computer a) Dropbox (Personal) and b) Amenic ehf. Dropbox (the name of the company I work for) and in there is a folder named ''Fannar Freyr'' (my name) with all my old stuff (1.2TB) but I have to be logged into my work email (removed per the Community's Guidelines) to see it So I'm absolutely gutted and devastated. My account is gone. It's a total total mess and I'm so angry and frustrated How can I revert everything back to like things were? I just want my personal Dropbox account to be exactly like it was 2 hours ago. I want all my stuff inside THAT account, not linked with my workplace-Dropbox account. Please help me2.9KViews0likes14CommentsRekordbox Team and Family Admin
Hi, I am using Dropbox for years. Actually I am subscribed to the family plan and I am the admin of the family subscription. I read, that it is not possible to join a family subscription if you are in a Team, but do I also lose my family subscription, owned by myself when I join a team? And is it a special case, as the professional DJ team is not a real team, because it has no access to my data accept to the music? Thanks in advance for your answers932Views0likes2Commentsdowngraded after removed from team
Our Dropbox professional trial account was added by mistake to a team account. When removed back from the team we were downgraded back to Dropbox basic, and lost our remaining time on the upgrade (on a + price). Any way we could be back on our professional account? We have the latest invoice.Solved1.1KViews0likes6CommentsComplicated Account Question
I had my own Dropbox professional account. I was then added to another law firm's Dropbox account - a Standard account. I received my refund from Dropbox since I paid for the Standard account annually. I do work for this other law firm from time to time and need regular access to it. I now need to add an employee to my own law firm who does not need access to this other law firm's Dropbox but does need access to my firm's files. However, I am now in the other firm's Standard plan. How do I make it so I can add a new user that only has access to my firm's files and not this other firm while also making sure I have access to both the other firm's files and my own? Thank you!Solved4.4KViews0likes12CommentsBusiness Plan Dropbox Standard: how does it work?
I have a plan to upgrade my dropbox from personal to business, but i have a several questions: 1. How to operate the business plan? is it operated by an admin or anyone could operate it? 2. Employees who will be members, whether they have an account or don't have an account, how do they registered? by email or just a username? 3. If someone resigns, and the new employee will replace, the account email that registered before can be change with the new account or should be delete and make a new account? 4. If already have an account, how do we transfer data from individual plan to business plan?918Views0likes3CommentsNot able to join Professional team
Hi there, I am trying to join the Rekordbox Professional team on dropbox and I get the following error: "You cannot link your Dropbox account to our team. Your account may already be connected to the other team. Please try again with a different account." As far as I can see I am not joined to a team because I have the dropbox Basic plan. What can I do to fix this?854Views0likes3CommentsI asked a team to invite me, cause I didn't have space, but that didn't work.Am I part of the team?
Hi I am currently doing some work for a not for profit organisation, when i started a couple of months ago i was using my personal account and when that reached the max 2GB I asked the organisation about a team account. They did say that they do have a paid account. I was 'invited' by one of the admins and when I logged into the invite I ended up with similar situation with only 2GB. Before i go back to the admin person and show my ignorance, should there be some of special credentials that need to be used to login or should my own email and password get me to the paid team account. Is there a way of seeing if I am logged into a team account? As you can guess I am a newbie to Dropbox. Hope someone can direct me in the right direction. ThanksSolved1.2KViews0likes4Comments
