31 TopicsWay to stop Dropbox disallow people from requesting to join our team?
Is there a way to not give people the option to join our team? Every time I send a file to someone outside of my dropbox team (which is almost daily) they must get some kind of additional email telling them they can request to join our team, because I usually get a follow up email with random people who got the file asking to be part of my company's team. Is there a way to stop this? Or lock our team from outsiders?7.6KViews10likes19CommentsAdmin account deleted and re-registered but need to re-join team
I was the admin of my Dropbox Team when my account was mistakenly added to a new team. I have since removed myself from the new team, but in the process my account was deleted. I had to wait 7 days to re-register with the same email address. Now I cannot join my old team because there is no admin on that team to have me join the old team. Please advise!Solved2.4KViews0likes7CommentsCannot join a team
Hi all, I've started a new job, where they use Dropbox to store all the company's files and folders. I was instructed to create a new Dropbox using my new work email address, which I did, and told I would be invited to the team account. My manager has sent three invites for me to join the team, none of which have come through to my email (not even in junk). My colleague then sent me an invite to access the team folders, which I accepted and I can see that the folders are there, shared with me BUT there is an error message saying I do not have enough storage space on my current plan to access any of the folders, which I desperately need to do in order to do my new job properly! I had a personal Dropbox account for a decade. In the last 2 years, I have been included in a team account. I remember how the system looked skecthy and not reassuring in terms of privacy after joining the team, but I trust dropbox. My home folder had looked "only" shared with myself. Yesterday, my team leader decided to shut down the team account, but I lost all my personal/private files. Then I learned, somehow the team leader could move my files without my permission and put them all to a team member's space. My team member now has full access to my files. What kind of a irresponsibility is this? How could Dropbox, which is in bussiness for more than a decade, allow that? I had my old tax forms, bills, ID scans etc. in there, now someone else can access them? How? My privacy is violated, and how can I trust dropbox ever again?201Views0likes5CommentsMy team invitation isn't working - when I try to join the team I get a blank page
I am trying to join a dropbox team that stores technical data for my employer. He has sent an invitation four different times now, and I still can't access the team. While the invitation pops up for me to join, when I try to join the team I get a blank page. Refreshing doesn't resolve the page, I've tried closing the browser and reopening the link, restarting my computer, and clearing all other app activity. If I open the link and reopen dropbox, it shows the invitation but does not add me to the team. I've tried logging out and logging back in, and that doesn't resolve the issue either. Any potential solutions would be great.Solved193Views0likes3CommentsThe Dropbox site reloads every time I try to join a team via an invitation
I received an invitation to join a team but every time I click on the "join" button, Dropbox automatically log me out because the session "expired" and I have to re-enter my password, after re enter newly my password it happens the same story, the page reloads and it asks again for my password because the session expired ,and the story continues the same way.175Views0likes4CommentsAdding a new person shouldn't add them to the Dropbox Team
Recently we have added two entry level members to our firm. We purchased licenses for them and wanted to add them to SOME Dropbox folders pertinent to their work. Unfortunately, Dropbox is telling me that the only way to add a person is to add a new person to the Team and this gives them access to EVERY folder in the firm's Dropbox. The only fix is to add a new person then delete the Team access to the folder and then individually reinvite people to each folder. How can Dropbox think this is a good idea? A person joining on their first day has access to most secret information the firm has, if only temporarily it's still a bad idea. Not to mention the vast amount of time and data consumed deleting off the Managing Partners and Partners and then having them resync and download. There's got to be a better way. Dropbox suggested that all new employees could have individual plans but that's just silly and an administrative burden.Solved194Views0likes3CommentsI joined a Business team, and now I can't access my own Dropbox account.
Can anyone help me? I have had an existing dropbox account for years. I freelance for an external company who invited me to join their dropbox business account and somehow i have integrated my business dropbox account onto theirs. Obviously not a great situation to be in and I don't know how to undo it - it doesn't appear has 'linked' in my profile. I really need to speak to someone at dropbox but i sent them a help request and they closed it without answering. I'm very anxious that they can simply delete my whole business dropbox. Can anyone help me or give me a contact at dropbox who can?Solved2KViews0likes6CommentsJoining a Business team, and what is the best way to do that?
I have a personal dropbox under a personal email, but now my new company wants me to join and share their dropbox. How do I best do that? Do I need a totally new account with a different email address and log in, or can I add this new team folder to my existing personal account? The company invited me to my personal email, but when I clicked the invite I got these two strange choices that made no sense. One involved effectively transferring all of my personal files to the company team one (i think!)2.7KViews1like6Comments
