32 TopicsThe team admin could access my private folder when I joined the team
I had a personal Dropbox account for a decade. In the last 2 years, I have been included in a team account. I remember how the system looked skecthy and not reassuring in terms of privacy after joining the team, but I trust dropbox. My home folder had looked "only" shared with myself. Yesterday, my team leader decided to shut down the team account, but I lost all my personal/private files. Then I learned, somehow the team leader could move my files without my permission and put them all to a team member's space. My team member now has full access to my files. What kind of a irresponsibility is this? How could Dropbox, which is in bussiness for more than a decade, allow that? I had my old tax forms, bills, ID scans etc. in there, now someone else can access them? How? My privacy is violated, and how can I trust dropbox ever again?188Views0likes5CommentsMy team invitation isn't working - when I try to join the team I get a blank page
I am trying to join a dropbox team that stores technical data for my employer. He has sent an invitation four different times now, and I still can't access the team. While the invitation pops up for me to join, when I try to join the team I get a blank page. Refreshing doesn't resolve the page, I've tried closing the browser and reopening the link, restarting my computer, and clearing all other app activity. If I open the link and reopen dropbox, it shows the invitation but does not add me to the team. I've tried logging out and logging back in, and that doesn't resolve the issue either. Any potential solutions would be great.Solved170Views0likes3CommentsThe Dropbox site reloads every time I try to join a team via an invitation
I received an invitation to join a team but every time I click on the "join" button, Dropbox automatically log me out because the session "expired" and I have to re-enter my password, after re enter newly my password it happens the same story, the page reloads and it asks again for my password because the session expired ,and the story continues the same way.159Views0likes4CommentsAdding a new person shouldn't add them to the Dropbox Team
Recently we have added two entry level members to our firm. We purchased licenses for them and wanted to add them to SOME Dropbox folders pertinent to their work. Unfortunately, Dropbox is telling me that the only way to add a person is to add a new person to the Team and this gives them access to EVERY folder in the firm's Dropbox. The only fix is to add a new person then delete the Team access to the folder and then individually reinvite people to each folder. How can Dropbox think this is a good idea? A person joining on their first day has access to most secret information the firm has, if only temporarily it's still a bad idea. Not to mention the vast amount of time and data consumed deleting off the Managing Partners and Partners and then having them resync and download. There's got to be a better way. Dropbox suggested that all new employees could have individual plans but that's just silly and an administrative burden.Solved182Views0likes3CommentsI joined a team and now my plan has been cancelled. How can I go back to a personal account again?
I joined a dropbox team and then my account was cancelled. Why did it do this? How do I get my account back to where it was before cancelling? Thanks [removed per Community Guidelines]437Views0likes6CommentsI joined a Business team, and now I can't access my own Dropbox account.
Can anyone help me? I have had an existing dropbox account for years. I freelance for an external company who invited me to join their dropbox business account and somehow i have integrated my business dropbox account onto theirs. Obviously not a great situation to be in and I don't know how to undo it - it doesn't appear has 'linked' in my profile. I really need to speak to someone at dropbox but i sent them a help request and they closed it without answering. I'm very anxious that they can simply delete my whole business dropbox. Can anyone help me or give me a contact at dropbox who can?Solved2KViews0likes6CommentsJoining a Business team, and what is the best way to do that?
I have a personal dropbox under a personal email, but now my new company wants me to join and share their dropbox. How do I best do that? Do I need a totally new account with a different email address and log in, or can I add this new team folder to my existing personal account? The company invited me to my personal email, but when I clicked the invite I got these two strange choices that made no sense. One involved effectively transferring all of my personal files to the company team one (i think!)2.7KViews1like6CommentsPersonal account to Business account - All files gone
This will be a long post as I've never experienced any thing like this: 1.) I have had my personal Dropbox account for so many years and been paying the PRO-subscription for couple of years. It's all sorted out, some files offline, some online and I was using 1.2-1.4TB of 2.1-2.2TB available space. 2.) I also have a work email and that email is part of a team-Dropbox (business dropbox). I sometime use it to access work related stuff but I don't use it often 3.) My boss was trying to share some folder which would require 24/7 real time sync between us two (he is the admin account for my work-team-business Dropbox plan) but since I don't have my work Dropbox offline-synced I wanted to use my personal account or that BUT he couldn't share the folder with me because Dropbox said that email wasn't part of his Dropbox-Team. 4.) My boss deleted/removed my work email from the work Dropbox and added my personal account to his Dropbox-business/team account and paid about 10-15$ for it. Then things started to go south. 5.) I get this email saying I have to either A) Merge my personal dropbox to the work/business Dropbox or B) Keep them separate. 6.) I ofc choose separate but then Dropbox asks me to set the app up again on my computer and to choose a new place for me offline-Dropbox folder. 7.) I can't remember all of the things that happened but my files were gone, I had nothing in my personal account anymore, 1.2TB of data was gone. All of my pictures of my children and memories from the past years. So I panic and tell my boss to remove me BUT do it in the right way and convert my account back to a personal account like your website says it should be done. 8.) He does that and I can sign into my personal account again (removed per the Community's Guidelines) but still everything is gone and I have nothing in there. It says my data plan is 2GB a month.. I used to have 2.1TB a month! 9.) He then tried to add my old work email back to the team ) just to see what happens and I do that and all of a sudden I see all my personal files in the Dropbox.com website when logged in via my work email !!! 10.) Now I have two Dropbox folders on my computer a) Dropbox (Personal) and b) Amenic ehf. Dropbox (the name of the company I work for) and in there is a folder named ''Fannar Freyr'' (my name) with all my old stuff (1.2TB) but I have to be logged into my work email (removed per the Community's Guidelines) to see it So I'm absolutely gutted and devastated. My account is gone. It's a total total mess and I'm so angry and frustrated How can I revert everything back to like things were? I just want my personal Dropbox account to be exactly like it was 2 hours ago. I want all my stuff inside THAT account, not linked with my workplace-Dropbox account. Please help me2.8KViews0likes14CommentsRekordbox Team and Family Admin
Hi, I am using Dropbox for years. Actually I am subscribed to the family plan and I am the admin of the family subscription. I read, that it is not possible to join a family subscription if you are in a Team, but do I also lose my family subscription, owned by myself when I join a team? And is it a special case, as the professional DJ team is not a real team, because it has no access to my data accept to the music? Thanks in advance for your answers923Views0likes2Comments
