25 TopicsWay to stop Dropbox disallow people from requesting to join our team?
Is there a way to not give people the option to join our team? Every time I send a file to someone outside of my dropbox team (which is almost daily) they must get some kind of additional email telling them they can request to join our team, because I usually get a follow up email with random people who got the file asking to be part of my company's team. Is there a way to stop this? Or lock our team from outsiders?7.6KViews10likes19CommentsAdmin account deleted and re-registered but need to re-join team
I was the admin of my Dropbox Team when my account was mistakenly added to a new team. I have since removed myself from the new team, but in the process my account was deleted. I had to wait 7 days to re-register with the same email address. Now I cannot join my old team because there is no admin on that team to have me join the old team. Please advise!Solved2.5KViews0likes7CommentsCannot join a team
Hi all, I've started a new job, where they use Dropbox to store all the company's files and folders. I was instructed to create a new Dropbox using my new work email address, which I did, and told I would be invited to the team account. My manager has sent three invites for me to join the team, none of which have come through to my email (not even in junk). My colleague then sent me an invite to access the team folders, which I accepted and I can see that the folders are there, shared with me BUT there is an error message saying I do not have enough storage space on my current plan to access any of the folders, which I desperately need to do in order to do my new job properly! Getting your team on board is an important part of setting yourself up for success with Dropbox. It might be a daunting process to some, but don't worry - you're not alone! Dropbox has a few suggestions for getting your team started. Take a look at this help article to see how to invite team members through the admin console, a reminder email, and SSO invites. I had a personal Dropbox account for a decade. In the last 2 years, I have been included in a team account. I remember how the system looked skecthy and not reassuring in terms of privacy after joining the team, but I trust dropbox. My home folder had looked "only" shared with myself. Yesterday, my team leader decided to shut down the team account, but I lost all my personal/private files. Then I learned, somehow the team leader could move my files without my permission and put them all to a team member's space. My team member now has full access to my files. What kind of a irresponsibility is this? How could Dropbox, which is in bussiness for more than a decade, allow that? I had my old tax forms, bills, ID scans etc. in there, now someone else can access them? How? My privacy is violated, and how can I trust dropbox ever again?228Views0likes5CommentsI joined a Business team, and now I can't access my own Dropbox account.
Can anyone help me? I have had an existing dropbox account for years. I freelance for an external company who invited me to join their dropbox business account and somehow i have integrated my business dropbox account onto theirs. Obviously not a great situation to be in and I don't know how to undo it - it doesn't appear has 'linked' in my profile. I really need to speak to someone at dropbox but i sent them a help request and they closed it without answering. I'm very anxious that they can simply delete my whole business dropbox. Can anyone help me or give me a contact at dropbox who can?Solved2KViews0likes6CommentsJoining a Business team, and what is the best way to do that?
I have a personal dropbox under a personal email, but now my new company wants me to join and share their dropbox. How do I best do that? Do I need a totally new account with a different email address and log in, or can I add this new team folder to my existing personal account? The company invited me to my personal email, but when I clicked the invite I got these two strange choices that made no sense. One involved effectively transferring all of my personal files to the company team one (i think!)2.7KViews1like6CommentsPersonal account to Business account - All files gone
This will be a long post as I've never experienced any thing like this: 1.) I have had my personal Dropbox account for so many years and been paying the PRO-subscription for couple of years. It's all sorted out, some files offline, some online and I was using 1.2-1.4TB of 2.1-2.2TB available space. 2.) I also have a work email and that email is part of a team-Dropbox (business dropbox). I sometime use it to access work related stuff but I don't use it often 3.) My boss was trying to share some folder which would require 24/7 real time sync between us two (he is the admin account for my work-team-business Dropbox plan) but since I don't have my work Dropbox offline-synced I wanted to use my personal account or that BUT he couldn't share the folder with me because Dropbox said that email wasn't part of his Dropbox-Team. 4.) My boss deleted/removed my work email from the work Dropbox and added my personal account to his Dropbox-business/team account and paid about 10-15$ for it. Then things started to go south. 5.) I get this email saying I have to either A) Merge my personal dropbox to the work/business Dropbox or B) Keep them separate. 6.) I ofc choose separate but then Dropbox asks me to set the app up again on my computer and to choose a new place for me offline-Dropbox folder. 7.) I can't remember all of the things that happened but my files were gone, I had nothing in my personal account anymore, 1.2TB of data was gone. All of my pictures of my children and memories from the past years. So I panic and tell my boss to remove me BUT do it in the right way and convert my account back to a personal account like your website says it should be done. 8.) He does that and I can sign into my personal account again (removed per the Community's Guidelines) but still everything is gone and I have nothing in there. It says my data plan is 2GB a month.. I used to have 2.1TB a month! 9.) He then tried to add my old work email back to the team ) just to see what happens and I do that and all of a sudden I see all my personal files in the Dropbox.com website when logged in via my work email !!! 10.) Now I have two Dropbox folders on my computer a) Dropbox (Personal) and b) Amenic ehf. Dropbox (the name of the company I work for) and in there is a folder named ''Fannar Freyr'' (my name) with all my old stuff (1.2TB) but I have to be logged into my work email (removed per the Community's Guidelines) to see it So I'm absolutely gutted and devastated. My account is gone. It's a total total mess and I'm so angry and frustrated How can I revert everything back to like things were? I just want my personal Dropbox account to be exactly like it was 2 hours ago. I want all my stuff inside THAT account, not linked with my workplace-Dropbox account. It’s been a while since I logged in. Trying to find a certain file. I login with an .edu email address and I’m informed I can either keep that as is and let the University have access to my files and admin rights (work account), or I can change to a personal email/account. I enter my gmail.com email but it says there’s already an account with that email. I cannot access my files unless I give my alma mater access and admin rights. Am I being forced to create another gmail account so that I can migrate my files? What’s the workaround here? There are no files in my gmail/Dropbox account. And this looks like the only spot to submit this question.Solved2.8KViews1like4Comments
