Hello. I am trying to delete a file from my dropbox trash but it says I need a password to go and delete permanently even though I sign in with my google account which is suppose to bypass the password for deleting files or images permanently from trash, and when I put in the password for my google account, it says invalid password. Dropbox App Version (if using the app): N/A Question or Issue Good morning. I discovered a bug in Dropbox related to restoring image file version history. Today, I accidentally overwrote an image stored in Dropbox and tried to restore a previous version. I was very surprised to see the file version field was blank and the "Restore" button was disabled (Attachment 1). I overwrote the same file again, and to my surprise, the correct version history appeared! (Attachment 2)246Views0likes12CommentsCan deleted photos be retrieved from Deleted Files?
3 days ago I deleted some individual in-named, un-filed single iPhone uploaded pictures. A few minutes ago I tried retrieving some from the deleted files section and after adjusting the filters, nothing came up. (1)Is there a grace period for retrieving? (2)Are deleted files the only items retrievable and not individual un-filed pictures? I’m a bit confused as to (3)what the difference between files and phone uploads and camera uploads are other than the obvious, deleting un-filed un-named singles individually to files having a name, files holding multiple pictures and ability to delete a whole file with pics all at once. (5)But with it being called “ Deleted Files”, are they all considered the same when deleting and retrieving them? It seems that Dropbox puts all my uploaded unfiled and un-named singles under camera uploads or phone uploads, (6)which I suppose, they could be considered pre-named Dropbox files (7)Not sure if I can delete pictures as a whole from these (files?) (8)because when opened, the two prenamed dropbox file formats look different than that of a file I named. (9)Dropbox’s Camera uploads and Phone uploads (files?) would make more sense to me if i uploaded photos with a secondary device like a Nikon camera or…..a Cannon. But all my Dropbox photo uploads are sourced from my iPhone camera. So that too is a bit confusing because I don’t choose where my singles go. They just go. Sometimes they go to both prenamed Dropbox (files?) I’ve had Dropbox for 10 years. (10)Looking for answers.207Views0likes4CommentsIs it possible Dropbox deleted my photos due to inactivity/being over-quota?
Hello, Has dropbox at anytime removed/deleted photos due to low storage or not accessing dropbox w/in a certain time frame? I have dropbox accounts under two separate email addresses. One has photos and the other does not. I created them so that I could put photos on them so Im a bit confused why Id have an account and no photos and I seem to think the 2nd account had photos. Is there anywhere I can check as to the history? What could have happened to my photos? I did look through some articles and didnt really understand them...other than asking if the photos stored on DropBox are somehow connected to our PC's? There was something mentioned about syncing them. I only recall adding photos to drop box as a storage device. idk honestly. Thanks for any information you can provide.132Views0likes6CommentsI deleted a photo from my phone and it got deleted from Dropbox
I deleted a photo from my phone while I was out. When I got home there was a dropbox notification that the photo had been deleted from Camera Uploads. Earlier support says this shouldn't happen. How do I disable this feature?79Views0likes1CommentI deleted photos from my desktop app and they also got deleted from the web. Can I recover them?
Hello, I think I have made a huge mistake. My knowledge of computers is limited. Is there anything I can do? Sometimes I use software on my computer that take a lot of memory. So I deleted a lot of data in order to make space. I thought I could delete files and photos from my computer and they still would be on dropbox. I understand now I was wrong. I did not look at these files and photos for a long time so I can not say exactly when it was all deleted but probably some time last year. I have had dropbox for many year. Is there anything I can do? I have a Plus account. Grateful for any help259Views0likes12CommentsI'd like to be able to search for my screenshots and remove them from the Photos page.
There is no where for me to perform a search in my "Photo" section and select or edit out screenshots from being populated in my "Photos". Screenshots should be allowed to be chosen or not chosen to be backed up in the "Photos" folder if one wishes. Please consider some kind of solution to this as it causes unnecessary duplicate files. I'd appreciate it and thank you.91Views0likes3CommentsMy photos are missing from my account, how can I get them back?
Hello, I’ve had drop box for many years, the free version. Recently I’ve noticed photos that were there are now missing! Havnt been deleted or anything, but they are gone and were 110% there… absolutely distraught, drop box was the only back up for all these precious memories. There is no way to contact a human at drop box what do I do166Views0likes9Comments
