I have just noticed on my PayPal account that I have seemingly been paying $11.99 for years for my Dropbox account, however, I only appear to have the basic free package! Anyone know how I can actually get in touch with Dropbox to clear this up? Obviously I can’t cancel a subscription that doesn’t show in my account, but I’d like to know why it’s been downgraded to Basic and yet I’m still paying a fee - which should now be refunded. My wife died 2 years ago. I thought I cleared out all of her files and all of mine and changed to a Dropbox Basic (free) account but I just got billed for a family account and it lists her email address on the invoice. Her name has been removed from my checking account and her credit cards cancelled. My account information confirms that I have a Basic membership, and as such I cannot contact user support, so I'm using this route. So it began with a 'FREE' trial for 30 days - I needed one use out of it. Yes my fault, did not write down when to cancel, even got an email saying that I wasn't using Dropbox enough. 3 days after they charged my credit card, I see it on my statement = CA$312.48 I go to cancel. NOT knowing 2 things: When you drop down to BASIC plan, email support, live chat support and phone support aren't supported on the Basic plan. Chatbox is included but it's unhelpful, it takes you around in circles. Now I'm here in Community forums and I'm not sure if anyone with authority is able to help me get my money back. When you cancel your subscription, MOST subscriptions will still allow you to have access to your subscription features until the end of the active billing cycle. NOT THIS ONE. I automatically paid for the year, realized what happened, cancelled my subscription without knowing the first fact and now I'm screwed. Do I need to pay for Dropbox Plus, Professional, Essentials again? To maybe get my money back for the first payment and this second one? Well done corporate entity. Hi, I was charged $119.88 for my Dropbox subscription renewal on November 21, 2024, using my Visa credit card (a full-currency international student card issued by China Merchants Bank). On the same day, I applied for a refund, which was approved. However, the refund still hasn’t been credited back to my account, and my bank statement shows the refund status as "pending." I would like to know: Is there any additional action I need to take to expedite the refund process? How long does it usually take for refunds to be processed in such cases? I am going round in circles. I cancelled my free trial of Drop Box prior to it running out and I thought that was it. Last week I received a notification that £199 had come out of my account - so I used the Drop bot chat to highlight the issue and spoke with a 'person'. They tried to sort out it for me but they couldn't see a subscription to cancel because I had previously cancelled it. The person asked me to call back the next day as they said they couldn't do anything however, they said they would record everything we spoke about and send me an email. I didn't get an email, I still have £199 showing as having been taken (no refunds) and my account is the basic account so I can't get hold of a 'person' anymore and have had to resort to this forum to find out who/where I can speak to to sort this please. Basically, £199.00 has been taken out of my account illegally and I don't have any 'goods' to show for it either (although I do not want DropBox) - I want a refund immediately.
