388 TopicsHow do I report fraud? Someone hacked us & am now being charged monthly for acct.
I noticed on my CC that I’m being charged by Dropbox again. I have only had a free account, so I was puzzled. Investigation resulted in finding someone fraudulently is using my info on an acct. And charging my CC. Obv I want that stopped. How do I report it, and stop further charges? There’s little I can do bcz I only have a basic acct and can’t call customer service. This is very frustrating. Thx.13Views0likes1CommentIssues with refund and support after downgrading to Basic account
Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some advice or hear from anyone who might have faced a similar situation. Here’s a brief overview of my issue: I was a Plus user for almost a year, and I had some problems with canceling my subscription that led to continued charges for a service I wasn’t using. I reached out to Dropbox support and was assured that I would receive a full refund for the 12 months I paid for, as I had been unable to resolve the issue myself. However, since downgrading to a Basic account, I’ve found that I can no longer contact Dropbox support via email, and the only response I’ve received is a refund for just one month, not the full amount I was promised. It’s been nearly two weeks since I was refunded for the last month, and the issue still hasn’t been resolved. I understand that as a Basic user, my support options are limited, but I’m stuck in a situation where my issue was promised to be resolved while I was a Plus user, and now I’m unable to reach support to complete the refund process. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there anything I can do to escalate this or get assistance? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can provide.47Views0likes6CommentsI'm being billed but don't have an active account as far as I know
I last used Dropbox maybe 10 years ago. I thought I canceled at the time. I've still been getting charged and haven't been angry because I thought maybe my kids were using it for school. But they say they don't. So either I never canceled before, or maybe its a fraudulent charge. Either way I want to cancel. But I can't log in because I don't know what email address is being used. I no longer work at the same place I did when I signed up. I'm only able to post here because I signed up for a new account today to do this. I tried to use the charge lookup tool, but it keeps asking me to input the correct info and I definitely am entering the correct info. What now?Solved42Views0likes2CommentsHow can I find out which account was charged and get a refund for the fee?
Hello,Everyone On March 26th, my Paypal account was charged $119.88 by an unknown Dropbox account. I want to know how I can find out about this account and complete a refund. I have the payment transaction number available. I hope to get help. So I have an old email that has expired. I didn't even know that my associated Dropbox account was still active, but it apparently is because I have a charge on my credit card for the $119 renewal fee. That's a lot of money for something I can't even use, much less want at this time! Pulling out my hair because I have no way to sign in and no way to get a refund. It is ridiculous that there is no way to talk to an actual person to resolve these issues! I looked at the support page for billing and there was nothing that I could find regarding this particular issue. Very frustrated and would appreciate some help!43Views0likes7CommentsI'm getting a PayPal charge, even though I'm using a Basic, free account.
I, like many other consumers, expect to receive the services I pay for. Yet, for the past three years, Dropbox has charged me $119 annually via PayPal—$360 in total—while my account has remained on the free plan. I have never received the service I was billed for. Attempts to resolve this issue have only revealed serious flaws in customer support and dispute resolution: The phone number provided by PayPal no longer works (a message says go to account and get a call back - though this doesn't exist). Chatbots offer no meaningful help. Live chat representatives cannot assist because the payment was processed via PayPal? There is no clear way to report a serious billing error or processing glitch. Consumers deserve accessible, responsive, and effective customer support when companies wrongfully charge them. A major platform like Dropbox should have a functioning system to handle billing disputes—not force users into endless loops of automated dead ends. It is reasonable to expect service for payments rendered, and immediate resolution and a full refund when there is an issue. If this issue has happened to me, it has likely happened to others.41Views0likes1CommentI've been charged for Dropbox for 2 years, but I'm on a Basic plan
As titled, I have never authorized any payments with my free plan, yet I found I was charged $119.88 on March 25 2025, when I look back I found out I was actually charged the same amount on 2024. I only have one account (this one). No transaction id associated with my transaction, so I cannot use the lookup tool. This is extremely frustrating, I have read many discussions with the same issue but no clear solve was found. Please help. I would like the two year refund and to stop charging me.59Views0likes6Comments
