A friend and I share mp3 files through dropbox though I use dropbox.cm and he uses dl.dropboxusercontent.com. The link I send him looks and behaves differently than the one he sends me. He gets a button to download the file while his link opens Windows Media Player and I must go through a few more steps to download the file. This is non-copyrighted material, by the way. The only way to get his link when clicked is to add a suffix with the characters - ?dl=0 to the end of the link. What gives with this?Solved201KViews10likes22CommentsExport Links for Multiple Files
I have one thousand images uploaded to a folder. I'd like to have the unique link to every image in the folder. I do not want to give access to the folder. Rather, I want to send one thousand people one image per person. Is there a way to download the public links for every image in my folder? Or do I have to click into every single image?18KViews5likes7CommentsSharing link to co-workers and using what they starred/commented!
Hello, I'll like to find a not so complex way of viewing comments and starred images after I share my dropbox link files with my co-workers. When I share the folder link they are able to add stars or comments but I can't see what they picked (stars) or the comments. It seems like a very simple thing, at least I thought it was, but I guess I'm missing something. Has any one of you figured out a way to do this? I would really appreciate if you share your take for this kinds of situations. Fernando.Solved2.5KViews3likes4CommentsView a list of files that have comments
As owner of our Dropbox I’ll process over a thousand jpegs from a photoshoot and post them for AD’s and CD’s to make pics from and comment on. How can we view a list of what files have comments? Is there a way to separate files that have comments from the group? Typically we will have a dozen or so sub-folders identifying different scenes. Can sub-folders be searched for comments? We could really use something permanent at the drop site. Notifications are good as an alert but not as a file reference.Solved8.6KViews3likes6CommentsHow to download large files and folders from Dropbox
I am using dropbox desktop to upload a bunch of files for clients. Each client has a folder created for them, and in that folder are files that are up to roughly 10gb in size. The client and I are not sharing back and forth, all they need to do is download the files in that folder once. I would assume that most of my clients are not dropbox members, and are trying to download with the web client. On the web client, there is a download button so they can download the contents of that folder. However, everyone who tries to download the files get the same message: "file is too large to download". On any given day, I could have up to 5 people trying to download thier files from me. Is there a limit on how much storage can be downloaded in a day? How can I get my files to my clients?Solved131KViews3likes11CommentsAccents in plain txt files incorrectly displayed
I saved some accented and umlauted characters in a plain txt file using mac with UTF-8 encoding under a dropbox folder, and when opening it using dropbox in a browser or on an ios dropbox app, the acccented characters are incorrectly displyed, i.e. ignroed or replaced with something wierd. Conversely when I saved a plain txt file with accents using ios dropbox app, the plain text file opens in Mac Textedit with incorrect accents. Is there a way to set the plain text file so that accents and umlauts are interepreted correctly on both my Mac and dropbox app/online viewing through a browser?3.7KViews2likes10CommentsScrolling through photos (next/previous) in a shared folder on mobile
When I share a link to a folder containing photos with others (https://www.dropbox.com/...?dl=0), I want people to be able to view (and optionally also download if they wish) the photos in that folder via dropbox.com in a web browser, whether they have a Dropbox account or not. If they access that link by either clicking or tapping on it directly if they don't have the Dropbox app installed, or copying and pasting the URL into a web browser to bypass their installed Dropbox app, they can see all the photos in that folder. When they click or tap on one of the photos, its preview appears. All good so far. Now, I want them to be able to scroll through the photos to be able to see the next or previous one while using this viewer in dropbox.com. On a computer, they are able to do this by using the left and right arrows that are made available. But on a mobile device, it doesn't look like the left and right arrows appear. I'm testing this on a a mobile device like my iPhone, and all I can do is close that photo's preview, and choose another photo to preview. In other words, I have to manually open each photo one at a time to view the photos in the folder. Is there a way to allow natural scrolling through photos in a folder? Thank you, GarySolved3.9KViews1like4Comments
