Hi, I am having trouble reading the Dropbox Help Center with its low-contrast theme, so I am asking here. I am running Linux Mint 17.3 64-bit and using MATE Desktop. I am running the very latest Firefox browser, 60.0.1, 64-bit. My Dropbox installation is designed for the Gnome desktop. Therefore I don't see all the integration I am used to back when I ran Windoze. I can edit on dropbox.com and see changes in my Dropbox. I can drop something in my Dropbox and see it on the website. Using the website tools, I can send someone an invitation from the website to share a file to be viewed and downloaded. (Or edited too if I want.) I saw today where I could copy links to my clipboard and paste them to my own email instead of using the canned invitation. Not sure where I saw that. I write a column for a club newsletter and it includes big photo files not suitable to be attached and emailed. My question is, is it possible to link a folder and if so, how do I go about it?Solved11KViews0likes7CommentsLarge download get interrupted for my client.
I have to urgently send a large ProRes file to a client that I’ve already uploaded to Dropbox. The upload worked fine (months ago), but when the client goes to the link and presses download, it works for a while and then cuts off every time! (Before it even gets halfway done) It’s 110GB, so it’s large, but how am I supposed to share it with them if the download keeps breaking down? I have a Professional subscription, and the client is a film production company that has a stable, full fibre connection, so it’s very unlikely to be their internet. Any help greatly appreciated! They’ve tried to download multiple times on different days.139Views0likes2CommentsZip file can not decompress Mac OS X
Hello DB. I have now, on multiple occasions, had clients write me that when they download a folder I sent them, the resulting .zip file will provide an error when decompressed. I have myself recreated this on a Macbook Air M2 on OS X Monterey and Big Sur. The downloaded zip file has the correct size, but is corrupt. Hello everyone. This is my issue: When I embed a video (stored in my Dropbox Essentials account) using an iframe like this (changing "&dl=0" to "&raw=1"):

The video is playable if there are no restrictions applied (neither password nor download restriction). My goal is to offer the video playback on my website, but prevent users from downloading it. Is this possible? Thanks2.5KViews0likes3CommentsPDF file was altered after being uploaded to Dropbox
I have recently discovered that when I have uploaded a PDF to be shared with others, there are changes that occur with the PDF that are not present in the original. For example, I noticed a strange bit of a shaded area on one page and when the printers download the file, the colour profile for the PDF is different to the original. This results in incorrect representations of the document when printed. I tested this by uploading the exact same file to Onedrive and these changes did not occur and the file printed perfectly by the printers. How is it possible that uploading a file to Dropbox can alter the PDF? Extremely odd.1.6KViews0likes5Comments
