User experience and suggestion for upgrading to an individual plan.
Dear Dropbox Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share a few suggestions that I believe could greatly enhance the user experience on your platform. Firstly, Iâve noticed that when files are shared via a link, there is currently no search functionality available for the recipient. As Dropbox is often used to share large volumes of data and multiple files, locating a specific document without a search option can be quite time-consuming. Introducing a search feature within shared links would significantly improve usability and efficiency for end-users. Secondly, I would like to suggest reconsidering the current storage limit for free users. Increasing the free storage from 2GB to at least 50GBâor ideally 100GBâcould set Dropbox apart from its competitors. Such an offering would encourage users to build a habit of storing their data exclusively on Dropbox. Once they reach the 100GB threshold, many would likely opt for a paid plan to retain access and continue using the service. To mitigate account duplication, measures could be implemented to restrict users from creating multiple free accounts. If youâre open to further user-based insights, I would be happy to share additional suggestions or assist you in any professional capacity. Thank you for considering my feedback. Our admin invited my company email to our shared folders but it says I need to upgrade
Good morning, I have my company dropbox email but was not previously connected to our shared folders. Our Admin person sent a link to the shared folders. When I select it, it wants me to register. When I try to register is says the account (email) already exist. I also get a request to upgrade my account. This should not be the case as our company has and manages our Dropbox accounts. I am not going to pay for a license if it is supposed to be included in our company bundle. How do I get this resolved? Thanks
What will happen to my shared links and account after my Dropbox team trial ends?
I recently created my Dropbox account. I clicked 'Business', because I am using the account through work, but I didn't realise this meant I was getting a free trial that would expire?!? I needed this account to create a link that could be shared to hundreds of people. I have already sent the link, but I need it to be active for at least 42 days. The problem is my free trial expires in around 14 days. What will happen to my link when the free trial expires? Will it still work for those recipients? What will become of my account? Will it just convert to a 'regular' account?I received an email about the discontinuation of the Dropbox Send and Track feature. Is it real?
The email was just sent to my inbox; partly stating: âAfter careful consideration, we will be discontinuing Dropbox Send and track as of March 31, 2025. This includes sending files as well as tracking analytics for those files. â IF THIS WAS INDEED SENT BY DROPBOX; please explain - since Iâm paying way too much money to have any of my files deleted!!!
Changing or transferring ownership of a Family plan
We have a family plan. The family manager is no longer continuing in that role, so what we need to do is transfer ownership to allow one of the other members within the family plan to take on the role of manager and become responsible for future payments when they are due. We have been told that if we want to change the person who is the manager for our Family, we will need to cancel the plan, then have the person who will be the new Family manager purchase a new Family plan and re-invite ALL the family members. 1) What happens when the current plan is cancelled? Will everyone lose their files? Will the shared family folder also disappear with all the important files in it? 2) What happens to those who are not part of the family, but who have been given access to certain folders for viewing? Will we have to re-invite ALL those people too or is their access retained?
No option to disable downloads for shared links on Dropbox Plus
Straight to the point - there is no way to prevent downloads with the âPLUSâ plan. Previously, you could set to âviewâ and prevent downloading. Now⊠the options are awful. View should mean view. The Dropbox answer? Upgrade to ESSENTIALS - preventing downloading should be available to all users. And other options are available. So thatâs why I am leaving Dropbox.
