How to share a Dropbox File or Folder with a Short URL
I would like to make some files stored in my Dropbox, downloadable from a web page. For this reason, I would like to be able to create Short URL's for each file. I want to allow a third party to upload a file once a month. Does this person need to be a member? Can I give a link to the folder? Is that all I'd need to do? How do I upload a file to someone else's Dropbox account?
I need to upload a file to the Dropbox of another user. I did not have an account, but in the process of trying to do this, I opened one. The other user sent me a link to his Dropbox, but I don't think it was an actual "request" for files-- it says I have the right to edit his folder. I have tried to upload my file from a flash drive to his folder about 15 times. Each time, the screen says the file is "uploading" and there is a bar showing the progress--but then the entire thing disappears and the folder is still empty. Questions: (1) is this because he did not send me a file request, but just a link that gives me access to edit files in his Dropbox? (2) is this because my own account does not have enough space for the large file? (3) something else? Does Dropbox compress photo files?
I'm sending full resolution photo files to clients instead of burning them on a disc, but I want to make sure they are the full resolution. I had a client that had pictures made at Walgreens, and they were pixely..I told her not to resize them at all o her end, but now I'm wondering if they are compressed at all and no longer full resolution. If someone writes erotica (their own), and uploads to Dropbox to share to an 18+ audience, can they do so? Same question applies to those who have made their own amateur or professional porn videos Same question applies for amateur/professional porn audio (recording masturbation, etc.) Same question applies for amateur/professional porn pictures (nudes, photoshoots, adult models, etc.) As long as the porn is not illegal (aka includes minors, animals, those who cannot give consent, etc.), and all parties involved in the MAKING of the adult content are 18+ and consent, can they still upload and share their adult content? I am trying to obtain a retirement interview video file that the sender can open with their link and drop box account, but the file cannot be opened by me at my end.
