Hi Team, Yesterday, for a reason that I am not sure of(the only thing we did, was add another user with access to a certain dir)...the "sharing activity" has stopped working...we are working on a shared dropbox with several people constantly updating /adding files...and now on the app, you cant see the changes being made... Its on different computers....but tried reinstalling the app, restarting etc...nothing. any help will be appreciated,23Views0likes3CommentsEspace de stockage
Bien cordialement.25Views0likes2CommentsDropbox Business: Disable "Request an invitation" popup for users after sharing
Using Dropbox Business Standard: When a user shares a folder with external users via their email, they get this pop-up: This is leading to numerous requests from users, not realizing that this is unnecessary in order to share their folder. Each requests results in a notification email, badge, and needing to deny the request. We do not want to add externals to our team at all. In our admin console, we have disabled "Members can invite people". However, they can still make these requests. Could you please provide a way to disable this popup? Thank-you!33Views0likes1CommentPeople asked to create account when viewing my files
If I send a link to one of my folders and the person via the link is taken to the opening page, they find they are confronted with a banner asking them to creat an account. One can clic outside of the banner and it disappears and they have access to the files. But a few people found the banner intimidating and figured they had to create an account and abandoned their attempt to view the files. Is there a way to turn this marketing off?Solved126Views1like9CommentsCannot open a shared folder despite having plenty of space available
I currently have the basic plan. I invited someone to join so I have 3 GB allotted to me. I am currently only using 1.12 GB. This shows in my profile. A friend sent me an important file today, and I am unable to open it. I get an error that says I am out of space and I need to upgrade for $11.99 a month. I saw another post that referred to checking backups and I did verify that I have nothing backed up. I was at 1.3 GB, so I deleted a few photos that were saved. And now I’m down to 1.12 GB. Why am I not able to open this new file? There should be no problem as these are our family Christmas photos. The same person takes them every year, the file size should be about the same as the last five years that are already saved in dropbox. So this file should be nowhere near large enough to use up the remaining amount of storage. I need to access these files so that I can get photos printed for Christmas for family that we’re going to visit. Time is of the essence. Can you please help me??25Views0likes1CommentI shared a folder with someone but they cannot access the contents
Device HP laptop Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (Windows 11) I just posted this but it's not showing up. I shared a parent folder with my VA for photos with 7 child folders inside it. She couldn't access that folder. So I shared one child folder with her and she can open that one, but doesn't see all the photos that I put into it. Both the parent folder and child folder show that they are "shared'. What's am I doing wrong? I can put screenshots if it would help. Thank you!Solved84Views0likes10CommentsMy files appear to be empty after editing
Hello, I'm on an ASUS Zenbook running Windows 11. I have a shared dropbox folder that constantly has files getting wiped/copied (when they get copied they are empty) showing up on the dropbox. It always shows me editing the file and its usually multiple at the exact same time. All the files have nothing in them and instead are blank. I know you can restore the file but its been happening for months and across multiple different shared folders and its honestly a headache to fix. Help appreciated, thanks in advance.111Views0likes7CommentsDeliberate omission of critical folders for Basic accounts.
I would like to bring to your attention a concerning practice that appears to affect free-tier users. Dropbox is not any more secure without external backup. It has become evident that certain shared folders (which are visible and accessible in read-only mode under a single account) are intentionally excluded from backups and event logging for users on the free plan. This omission makes it effectively impossible to track or recover any changes or deletions, as: Backup history is almost not available for free accounts. Event and activity logs are retained for only 30 days in the free tier. No relevant events or actions appear in the logs, even when changes or deletions are suspected. This issue has been reported and discussed by multiple users across various forums and communities, with many suspecting that folders are being deliberately hidden or removed in free accounts as a way to pressure users into upgrading to a paid subscription.40Views0likes2CommentsIs it possible to share files or directories in Ukraine?
Russia has shut off virtually all social networking applications in Ukraine. If I share a directory with my fiance through Dropbox will she be able to see it? When she gets an email will there be a link inside it to the Dropbox entry? Has anyone sent files or folders to someone in Ukraine?38Views0likes6CommentsMy Basic account shows 2.6 TB “shared files” but I cannot see or leave any shared folder
Hi, My personal Dropbox account ([removed]) shows 2.64 TB used out of 2.5 GB. The storage page says that the space is used by “Shared files (2.6 TB)” but I cannot see any shared folders in my account. I am not part of any team and I cannot find any shared folders under the /sharing or /share pages, or anywhere else in the interface. My own files are only around 190 kB. I also cannot change owner settings or leave any shared folder because nothing is visible. It seems like my account is linked to an old or hidden “legacy shared space” which is not visible in the current interface and cannot be removed by myself. Could a Dropbox Staff member please disconnect this hidden or legacy shared space from my account? This is the only way to restore the correct storage usage. Thank you very much.
