Shared Folders
13 TopicsOption to select a specific directory in the team member folder upon joining a shared content.
Whenever we join a shared folder it syncs into the parent directory. If we can sync all such folders into a specific directory that would be wonderful and would keep the parent directory clear enough. It becomes clumsy when everything syncs into the parent directory. Currently, we need to join it and then move it to the desired folder.266Views0likes8CommentsAllow us to see all the folders a user has access to and easily remove them from member.
Currently you can see who are the shared people in a folder or file. We need to be able to select a person and see the folders and files they have access to, and then obviously un-share from there. Not being able to manage this easily is a significant security risk.197Views3likes2CommentsImperative: Camera Uploads Update
Hello. Can you please make it so that people are able to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" without it cancelling the automatic uploads after doing so and also make it so that people can simultaneously upload files from multiple albums in their device into separate folders on Dropbox? This will make it far easier everyone to organize everything, especially when sharing the folder(s) with others. Point 1: As of right now, if someone were to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" folder to something else, let's say to "Andrew's Content," the automatic uploads will completely cancel future automatic uploads into that folder and create a whole entire new folder, again named "Camera Uploads," resulting in 2 separate folders which is inefficient, can lead users to become very confused, and what can be seen as an error in the algorithm from my point of view. Point 2: If a business has multiple people sharing their "Camera Uploads" folder to them, that business has no way to distinguish between which "Camera Uploads" folder belongs to whom, nor is the business able to change the name of the folder for themselves on their end. This is a major problem. Point 3: When people want to set up automatic uploads from multiple albums in their phone named, let's call them 'Content 1,' Content 2,' and 'Content 3,' and have them saved in either the same and/or separate folders in Dropbox, they can't because it is not even a feature. Can you please look into this and make these, what I think would be very beneficial quality of life, updates? Thank you so much for your time and consideration! Thank you, Andrew188Views2likes5CommentsShared Color Tags / Visual Labels in Shared Folders
It would be extremely useful if color tags or file highlights could be made visible to all collaborators in a shared Dropbox folder. Many teams rely on visual cues for workflow, and this would reduce confusion and improve coordination. Please consider enabling this feature across shared folders â similar to how macOS tags or Google Drive priority labels work.155Views1like5CommentsRestrict access to folders within a shared folder
There is a real need for setting folder access restrictions within a shared parent folder. We have several folders shared across teams that occasionally requires specific subfolders to be limited to one team or select employees and there is not way to accomplish this without moving the subfolder to a completely separate parent folder, disrupting our workflows.140Views0likes4CommentsMore efficient method to share/unshare folders/files
Reviving this closed suggestion from two years ago. The current method of sharing folders is painfully slow, especially if you have a group of users where only certain users get access to certain folders. You have to go person-by-person to add, delete or change the type of access. Each time you submit, it takes several seconds to update one user. It is especially cumbersome when the members change frequently (people leave/join a group.) I suggest a "bulk" or "batch" method of changing sharing of folders using checkboxes or buttons. When you click on the share icon for a folder, it would bring up a popup window showing all existing share members, their options, and the ability to change attributes, and add new members. Here's a sample view of the window. The same technique can be used for files too.133Views1like2CommentsIdea: Enhance Sync Info Window with Clickable Files and Detailed Sync Status
The new Dropbox sync info window (v224.4.4811, 2025) is too vague, especially for large folders (e.g., my 350GB folder). It shows â74 files remainingâ but doesnât list which files or whatâs happening (e.g., redownloading, indexing). Older versions had better sync details. Please add these features to the sync info window: Clickable Files: Allow clicking on files in the sync window to open them directly in their location. Show Waiting Folders/Files: Display a clear list of folders and files waiting to sync, including their paths and sizes, to identify bottlenecks. Giving clear marking of files that are yet to sync or not. Detailed Sync Info: Provide specific details (e.g., file name, progress percentage, status like âdownloadingâ or âverifyingâ) for each file/folder in the sync queue, similar to pre-2020 versions. Also any permission errors. These changes would make sync tracking transparent and user-friendly, especially for large datasets. Thanks for considering! Currently I feel this is amazing that it is not standard. The last option is for having a simple way to have mutliple folders for mutliple windows users. Currently it is almost impossilbe to use the same drop box folder for two users.110Views0likes2CommentsDownload all comments from a folder into a .csv file.
We need a way to download all the comments in a folder as a .csv. For instance, I have over 100 images, each with a comment from the client on it. It is neither helpful nor time saving for me to download a text file one by one. Bonus points if we could also have the images embedded as thumbnails.87Views2likes3CommentsSave Offline Folder Link to Home Screen on iOS
I want to be able to go directly to a single offline folder directly by clicking on an icon on my Home Screen on iOS just like I can add (share) a URL from Safari to my Home Screen. One click on an icon on my Home Screen takes me directly into a specific folder in Dropbox folder.62Views0likes1Comment
