I have several “unread” messages from Dropbox which when opened or marked as read the “2” displayed above the icon will not go away. The marked as read button does nothing and there appears to be no way to delete the messages ? Using app on new iPad Pro.Solved14KViews9likes64CommentsDropbox App has disappeared from Kobo Forma
Hi, My Kobo Forma decided to factory reset itself on my way home from work today, so I had to reconnect to the internet and my accounts (Kobo & Overdrive). I had been reading some files in my Dropbox on it around lunchtime, and it was no problem. After the restart, though, I cannot find the Dropbox section in my Forma. I have contacted Rakuten, and they have not noted anything on their side that would have brought this on. I am very confused. Has anyone else seen their Dropbox disappear on their Kobo ereader and has anyone come across how to fix it?Solved4KViews0likes7Commentswhere does dropsync belong in all this
I used to have just two android devices, a tablet and a phone. For long I tried to emulate my old experience with backup systems in Mac, and tried to bend dropbox to that task. It never seemed to work very well: syncing was always interrupted by one or another. Today I'm now also running a copy of Windows 11 Pro, on its own device, but I still get missives from Dropbox (if not more!) Over recent days, Dropbox has encouraged me to run their "automated" setup, which seems to target my pc. And I do admit it seemed pretty easy to activate an auto backup of Windows files of my choosing. That's great, and thank you. But now I'm wondering, well, what about backing up my android devices, too? I'm either not equipped or interested enough to pursue this on my own. Should I continue to wrestle with Dropsync, or is there a way to utilize what seems to be this "new" Dropbox facility? All you nerd types, you should know, from my perspective, Dropbox seems impenetrably dense. This is why I was encouraged to try their "new" approach, which is adequate (I think) to manage Windows backup, but makes me continue to wonder, can this swell bliss be adapted to manage my Android files? Dump Dropsync or use it?3.9KViews0likes3CommentsIs there a free version of Dropbox I can install on my iPad?
I use the free version of Dropbox on my MacBook and would like to share that folder on a newly purchased iPad (I've never used an iPad before). If I go to the iPad App Store and download it it seems to insist on doing a one month free trial for the subscription version. I'd like to stick with the free version however when I look it up on my iPad web browser and click on the DropBox offer to get the free version, once I login I appear to be in that shared folder *however* all of this is happening within a safari page, whereas I thought it was downloading and launching a free version of the app. Does this mean I can only access the contents of the dropbox folder via a browser page? Thanks.Solved2.1KViews0likes9CommentsThe top of my iPad screen disappears when opening Dropbox
Hi. When I open Dropbox on my iPad, the iPad top menu with the date, hour and battery level disappears. Is this a known issue? Google wasn't very helpful. I'm on the latest version of iOS and Dropbox and I have an iPad 10th generation. Thanks for your help.Solved2KViews0likes11CommentsLogging out from the app remotely.
we use dropbox on our PC desktop but primarily use it on our our phones and iPads. We were traveling in Europe and it occurred to us that there’s no automatic logout feature for dropbox that we could find, if we were currently logged in to our iOS device and it were stolen from us, someone could immediately get into the Dropbox app. it seems to me that’s serious security feature. I emailed support and they said they do not have a feature now so I wondered if the group had to work around. We use a password protection software on the devices it times out after the time range that you set. Any help is appreciatedSolved2KViews0likes6CommentsDropbox automatically logs out on iPad and iPhone
Hello, I have a really strange issue on my iPad and iPhone since a few days ago. Not sure when it started, but there was no iPadOS / iOS update etc. as far as I know involved. - log into the Dropbox app on the ipad - enter a markdown editing application - navigate to a file - edit it - try to exit it (and hence save it) and get an error - go back to the Dropbox app and get the message dialog „Signed out - email@domain has been signed out from this iPad - [OK]“ - rinse and repeat, same result Weird thing is that whenever I re-login to the Dropbox it gives me some of the usual new user upgrade options, camera upload turn on option, etc. I‘ve tried with two different accounts, one brand new, one a few years old. Same on both. Any help welcome. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, rebooted, cleared cache, no change.Solved1.7KViews0likes7CommentsDropbox search not working on Android and iPad OS apps
Hi everyone! I wonder if you can help me - in the past week, I no longer get search results from using the Dropbox app on both my android phone (app version 302.2.2) and iPad OS (app version also 302.2.2). Is anyone else having a problem? Because it affects both apps on two different platforms, I thought it might be a problem with the Dropbox servers. As you might imagine, it's quite limiting. I've also just checked on the web version, and search doesn't work there either. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.Solved1.6KViews0likes4CommentsXiaomi Book S Not Compatible With Dropbox App After Removing S Mode
Hi, I know lots of people have had the same problem, but I have looked everywhere, here and other websites and can't find a solution. I just purchased a Xiaomi Book S (ARM) and couldn't install the normal dropbox desktop app as it was in S Mode (running Windows 11). I have correctly taken it out of S Mode, but when I try to install dropbox now (both the normal installer and the offline one), it says "your device is not compatible with this version of the dropbox app". I've rebooted several times, deleted all previous dropbox files from C: and still can't do it. Can someone help please? I've been using dropbox for about 14 years now and don't want to have to switch to onedrive. Thanks, Michael.1.4KViews0likes4Comments
