Free team disbanded by Dropbox
Hi Team, Can someone please help with an email I received as below? Not sure what it all means The ???? Limited team has been disbanded by Dropbox. Your team’s folders have been converted to shared folders, and all ??? Limited groups have been deleted. Your account has been converted to a personal Dropbox plan. Hide folders from users who don't have permission
Is it possible to hide a folder entirely from users who don't have a permission to open the folder? At the moment, users who are not member of certain groups or are not invited to open a folder are not able to open the folder and see its contents. But there are some folders, most users (except our management) shouldn't even know about their existance so I would like to hide the folders in the directory view.Solved13KViews8likes12Comments
Inability to Activate Smart Sync (remote management software & third party pointing device drivers).
Any luck? I have a machine that I just updated to 10.13.4 and clicking "Allow" still does nothing for enabling the smart sync extension. EDIT: I was trying to do this via VNC to a mac that did not have a display, keyboard, or mouse attached. Once I attached those items, I was able to click the "Allow" button. Apparently you cannot click that button from a VNC session. Lesson learned.Solved12KViews5likes41Comments
Personal Folders in Dropbox Business
I'm looking at Dropbox Business and have a few questions about personal folders. 1. Can users covered by my Dropbox Business account create personal folders within the Dropbox Business structure or does an admin have to create them? 2. If users can create personal folders, are the names of the personal folders and their contents visible to everyone covered by the Dropbox Business account even if they are not shared by the user who created them? 3. Can an admin see all of the folders and files in a Dropbox Business account including personal folders/files even if they haven't been shared by the person who created them? 4. Hallo! Im Rahmen der Umstrukturierung unseres Unternehmens werden zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt alle Teammitglieder neue E-Mail Adressen erhalten. Die alten werden gelöscht. Kann mir jemand "best practice" Tipps geben, am besten aus persönlicher Erfahrung? Mein Vorhaben plane ich aktuell so: in der Nacht der Umstellung alle verknüpften Geräte (PCs, Mobilgeräte) jedes einzelnen Teammitglieds von Hand entfernen (dadurch erzwinge ich eine erneute Verknüpfung am folgenden Arbeitstag), die E-Mail Adresse jedes einzelnen Teammitglieds zu der neuen Firmenadresse ändern. Meine erwarteten Nachteile: keine. Ein bisschen erhöhten Datentraffic bei Neusynchronisation, aber das sollte klar gehen. Meine erwarteten Vorteile: saubere Umstellung auf die neue Adresse, durch das händische Entfernen jedes verknüpften Geräts und die dadurch erzwungene neue Verknüpfung /-synchronisation erwarte ich eine sicheren Wechsel, auch wenn temporär viele Daten geschaufelt werden müssen. Passwörter und 2FA setze ich nicht zurück, damit sich meine Teammitglieder wieder einfach mit den bestehenden Kennwörtern am folgenden Werktag anmelden können. Hat jemand Tipps?
