Our Business admin account has been hacked and we cannot get a hold of support.
Does anyone know how to get assistance on a hacked account? Our CEOs business admin account has been compromised, and she has been kicked out. No one at Dropbox is answering our requests and there is no direct number to talk to a real human. We are panicking since we work with very important data and have deadlines. We need help! She cannot access her account at all, and it is the admin account, therefor she cannot put in a request. We are a paying customer as well. SO frustrating!!
How can I prevent team members from sharing or downloading the data to use them as their own?
I am planning to start a work account with Dropbox, but my profession revolves around highly valuable data. My main concern is whether other users with access to the shared Dropbox account can download files without permission. If they do, they could potentially use the downloaded data to run their own business and generate revenue, which would be a serious issue. Is there a solution to prevent unauthorized downloads or ensure better control over shared data? I would appreciate any guidance on this.
Dropbox for Salesforce integration. "You need to be invited to the 'Salesforce Documents' folder."
I am trying to link Dropbox Teams account with new Salesforce setup. I can see from both softwares that I am connected but in the Dropbox window within a Salesforce case or opportunity, I get the following message: "You need to be invited to the 'Salesforce Documents' shared folder. Please contact your system administrator to get access to content already linked to this record." I am the system administrator for Dropbox. Do I need to create a folder called 'Salesforce Documents' or is that something that is auto generated when the integration begins?"This account has been marked as inactive. Contact the team admin" error, but I am the admin
I was using my account and then after coming back to my account an hour later the log in now fails and saids This account has been marked as inactive. Contact the team admin, which is my account. No explanation or way to solve this has been given, it cant be due to inactivity because I was just using it.
Restricting the Dropbox desktop app to permitted (company) devices
I have dropbox business for our office and am trying to limit access/installation to company-issued devices. We don't want our employees to install and sync company dropbox account onto their own personal devices due to security reasons. Quite simply, company files are one lost and unsecured computer / laptop away from being lost to the real world. Is there a way to do this?
Can I increase the licenses on a Business trial?
Hi, I'm on a business trial plan at the moment and I want to add more license to the team (10 license). I tried doing it via the admin console in manage license, but it always says payment error, even though I have added the billing method. I tried with different browsers as well and nothing worked (mozila, chrome, opera, edge). I tried managing license from different panels, billing panel and member panel and both did not work and return the same payment error. Then I tried to invite 10 people into my team so I can have 10 license, but this also does not work. The first 2 invitations were sent successfully, but when I tried to invite more people, I get this error. How can I increase the number of license that I have on business trial? Or can this not be done at all? Thanks.
How can I rotate users with a fixed number of licenses in a business plan?
We are small organisation where three people from the management should share documents. We decided to purchase Dropbox Business with 3 licenses. One person created the Dropbox account, and automatically became ADMIN. His email become the address used by Dropbox to communicate the issues affecting the whole team. Other people were invited by admin via invitation process. Now - in this organisation, management regularly rotate - one or more people leave the management, other people enter management. At any given time, there are at most 3 people in the management. What is the correct procedure to manage Dropbox accounts in this scenario? For example - when Admin person is replaced in the management, how to transfer ADMIN role to differrent user? There are two scenario variants: a) tranfer ADMIN role to already existing user b) transfer ADMIN role to newly added user - this, however, temporarily increases the number of users by 1 🙂 How to solve this?
We can't change the ownership of a folder on our Dropbox team.
Hi, I'm an administrator for our Dropbox Team. One of our employees would like to transfer ownership of a folder to another employee. He tried, and then I tried at the admin level, and followed the Help Center instructions for changing ownership. When we open the drop -down menu showing who has access to the folder, we only see "can edit" and "can view" as options, not "make owner" as suggested in the instructions. Hello, Our company’s admin Dropbox account was deleted due to locked state. However, other team members who had access to files shared from this admin account can still view them. I need to delete some of these files, but since the owner account (admin) was deleted, I no longer have control over them. When I logged back into the admin account, a new profile was created, and all previous files were missing. Is there a way to assign admin rights to one of the existing members with access to these files, so they can control and manage them as an admin? Thankyou in advance Bandana
