I was invited to join a team, but I want my individual Dropbox account back

Joining a Dropbox Team can automatically convert my personal account into a team account.

Quick Guide

  1. Ask the account Admin to remove you from the Team
  2. (Teams in a Locked State) On dropbox.com, go to Settings → Team, leave the Team workspace.
  3. Sign out and sign back in; you’ll be returned to your personal account.

Common Causes

  • Team invites override personal account view.

  • Ask the account Admin to remove you from the team.
  • Use "Leave team" (locked state teams) option and re-authenticate.
