I was the admin of my Dropbox Team when my account was mistakenly added to a new team. I have since removed myself from the new team, but in the process my account was deleted. I had to wait 7 days to re-register with the same email address. Now I cannot join my old team because there is no admin on that team to have me join the old team. Please advise!Solved2.4KViews0likes7CommentsCannot unlink old device
I'm getting Dropbox full because of an older PC, listed as PC(1) in my usage. I go to my Settings Security and see only my current PC and laptop listed. I need to unlink this old device from my account but I cannot find a way to do that. I have a Microsoft Office 365 subscription.1.2KViews0likes5CommentsAccidental folder move prevention on Dropbox Business team
Our company uses Dropbox for Business. Currently our folder structure is Lawyers and then under that we have Amy, Brian, Chris, etc (the names of the lawyers). The under each lawyer we have dozens of different subfolders for the different cases. The other day an employee accidentally dragged Chris into Brian and it caused us to be down as thousands of files were moved and then we had to move them back and wait for everything to sync to everyone's computers. I'm wondering if we can limit this kind of damage by moving Amy, Brian, Chris, etc to the top level and then changing the setting Admin console, Settings, Content, Top-level content management from Everyone to Only Admins. Then they wouldn't be able to move Chris to Brian if they're not an admin. They would still be able to work as they are now and edit the subfolders and files, correct?1.3KViews0likes8CommentsCannot join a team
Hi all, I've started a new job, where they use Dropbox to store all the company's files and folders. I was instructed to create a new Dropbox using my new work email address, which I did, and told I would be invited to the team account. My manager has sent three invites for me to join the team, none of which have come through to my email (not even in junk). My colleague then sent me an invite to access the team folders, which I accepted and I can see that the folders are there, shared with me BUT there is an error message saying I do not have enough storage space on my current plan to access any of the folders, which I desperately need to do in order to do my new job properly! Please help x877Views0likes4CommentsHow can I remove permissions for a single user from a specific folder?
Dropbox Plan Business Are you a Team Member or Admin? Admin (but just a business owner...not very tech savvy) Do you have access to the email linked to the account? yes Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? All employee laptops are connected to the account and they all have the relevant shared folder stored locally as well as in the cloud. Question or Issue I am an admin on a business account. We have a common folder where all of our client files are stored. I hired a new employee that has a conflict with one of our client matters, and we need to wall them off from that one single file among hundreds, while maintaining access to every other file within that folder. The folders permissions use the group that includes all employees, and this person is a member of that group. What is the easiest way to wall them off from this one sub-folder while maintaining access to the other hundreds of files in this shared folder?32Views0likes2CommentsI've accidentally joined a Dropbox team, thinking it was a client sharing a file
Ive been using Dropbox to run my subscription business for 7+ years. Yesterday, I inadvertently clicked on a link thinking it was a shared folder with a client. I have now joined their team, and my acvpunt has merged with theirs. They have ALL my business/tax information and client files. Ive tried to contact them to no avail, I don't think they'd used Dropbox before, and don't really know what they're doing. My account has hundreds of subscriber folders, all linked to specific URLs, so I cant lose my account. I've been a paying customer for years, however support so far has been non-existent, stating that i must contact this non-contactable "admin" for them to restore... potentially DELETE my entire account. I really need my account separated ASAP, my entire business and livelihood depend on it. I can't believe something so catastrophic comes with no warnings! If anyone can please help, I'll be forever in your debt.55Views1like1CommentI joined a Dropbox team and now all my files are shared with them
I joined a professional team and it gave them access to all my personal folders and files. I didn’t realise that joining a team would do this, I assumed my folders would still only be accessible by me. I deleted the folders but when I tried to permanently delete the files it said I do not have permission. I do not have permission to delete my own folders and files????? Apparently it needs to be admin which is a colleague who I do not want to access the information.386Views0likes6CommentsIs the admin of a team account able to access the contents of all folders?
Hi, I am the bookkeeper of a business. We would like to upgrade Dropbox to Standard and make it more secure. We think the manager should be the admin and a user, and I should be a user. At present, Dropbox and all its folders are accessible to anyone who can access the computer. We would like that to remain the case for some folders, but other folders should be password protected. I have shared one folder with our accountant, which I use to upload information which should remain confidential from the manager. Is the admin able to access the contents of all folders, even if they are not shared with them? Can this be done in Dropbox Standard and if so, how please? Many thanks.95Views0likes3CommentsI cannot manage team permissions while signed in as admin
Why can I not manage permissions while signed in as admin? It clearly says I am. And yet I can manage sharing permissions at all. Please help. I have screenshots, but I don't seem to be able to post them here. I can't give you much more info without those, other than I am not allowed to change permission settings like who has access to what folders, and I'm not able to share files or folders via email. This is the same from Chrome and the DB desktop app for Mac. -Ash254Views0likes6Comments
