Quick question — is it possible to run two Dropbox accounts on the same computer without constantly signing out or making separate user accounts? I’m not super technical, just want personal + work available without cluttering my disk — what do people actually do?17Views0likes1CommentI deleted my email, and now I have trouble accessing my Dropbox account.

Is preatty obvious that Im the owner of the account.33Views0likes2CommentsCan't access main Admin account for Dropbox as email no longer exists
Hi -Our main admin left the company. We had access to her dropbox but the freelance IT guy came in, changed our emails from Fasthosts to another provider and cancelled the Fasthost plans, so that email no longer exists and cant be reinstalled. We now have no access to the admin of this Dropbox account and the IT guy has full access as it looks like he's stored the passwords for when he was accessing stuff through Teamviewer - but we need that to stop immediately as other things have gone on We can access the other account linked but they don't have admin permissions, and so our IT guy has full control of this account and not us?! What can we do?? Thanks2KViews0likes15CommentsStolen mac time-machine disks. What does "localdomain" mean in 'connected devices' list?
Hi I'm bit worried, my mac time machine discs were stolen last week (unencrypted) so I changed my dropbox password (and many others) 10 am this morning, I was prompted to check the devices connected in my dropbox/security because re-logging in means I reached the 3 device limit. I saw a mac I didn’t recognise "ChristopersMBP4.localdomain" is nothing to do with me. I did already change my dropbox password yesterday after the disc was stolen. I normally have a Mac mIni connected which was not listed, so maybe this is an error. However - the list did state "localdomain" I dont know how that differs from ".local" within dropbox - googling's not helping me also - my wifi password was changed earlier this morning. I immediately clicked the bin in dropbox/security to disconnect "ChristopersMBP4.localdomain". My Mini was restarting at the time, when it was done I was asked to log into dropbox. Now the mini is connected as: "neils-mini.local" not ".localdomain" does anyone know what this.localdomain" means please? Am I in trouble? Heres a screenshot with the spurious connected mac. thanks so much NeilSolved2.9KViews0likes19CommentsJoining Dropbox for teams account added all my files to my client's account
Hi! My client tried to share a folder with me and accidentally sent me an invite to their team. I accepted the invite thinking I would get a shared file inside my personal business account. INSTEAD, all of my personal and business files have been merged with their team's documents. I am very angry and upset this is so easily done and that Dropbox doesn't give you any recourse other than to contact the admin of the team. This seems like a really easy way for someone to hijack an account. I have sensitive documents and files in my account that have now been shared with my client, putting me at risk for legal implications. Please fix this poor communication and porting Dropbox. It's obviously already a problem for several people here. On a personal note: WHAT THE EFF!!!!! I am ANGRY and EMBARRASSED and incredibly stressed out. I'm going to be looking for a new file management system because this is terrifying, I cried today because of this, you've embarrassed me in front of my client. I will be having nightmares about this for a long time.462Views0likes4CommentsCannot unlink old device
I'm getting Dropbox full because of an older PC, listed as PC(1) in my usage. I go to my Settings Security and see only my current PC and laptop listed. I need to unlink this old device from my account but I cannot find a way to do that. I have a Microsoft Office 365 subscription.1.2KViews0likes5CommentsChanging ownership of a Dropbox account
We currently have a dropbox account managed by a member of staff that has recently left. I have managed to change the email address so that is done and have changed ownership of the internal folders to another colleague. However this morning as a test she wasn't able to log in via the internet which was good as we had changed the email address and password, yet when she clicked on the dropbox icon app she managed to gain access into the account and was then logged in as my colleagues name who is now in charge of the account. How do I go about removing my old colleague completely but still keeping all our files and folders available for our use.Solved1.2KViews0likes3CommentsAccidental folder move prevention on Dropbox Business team
Our company uses Dropbox for Business. Currently our folder structure is Lawyers and then under that we have Amy, Brian, Chris, etc (the names of the lawyers). The under each lawyer we have dozens of different subfolders for the different cases. The other day an employee accidentally dragged Chris into Brian and it caused us to be down as thousands of files were moved and then we had to move them back and wait for everything to sync to everyone's computers. I'm wondering if we can limit this kind of damage by moving Amy, Brian, Chris, etc to the top level and then changing the setting Admin console, Settings, Content, Top-level content management from Everyone to Only Admins. Then they wouldn't be able to move Chris to Brian if they're not an admin. They would still be able to work as they are now and edit the subfolders and files, correct?1.3KViews0likes8CommentsPlease add zero knowledge encryption on Dropbox.
I find that many Cloud services offer encryption during transfer to the service and encryption at the destination. Dropbox does this too. Unfortunately, the keys used at the destination are available to Dropbox. What would make Dropbox unique is if it would offer Zero Knowledge encryption at the client. That way all files are encrypted at the client with the customer retaining the keys. Why is this important? There can be bugs during transfer even if encryption is used (remember the famous OOPS with caches on internet servers offering up unencrypted data?). Also, the government can force Dropbox to deliver user data (or it may be compromised by hackers). Dropbox with Zero Knowledge Encryption would be a market leading solution that would drive a great preference over OneDrive, Google Drive and others. It would be the only way I would be comfortable putting my files on the cloud.Solved2.9MViews187likes33CommentsIs there a way to locate and gain access to old accounts that I don't have the password for?
