I have two Dropbox accounts. Both have the System Extension disabled. However, when syncing on a desktop (Windows in this case), on one account, the Dropbox folder has the reparse attribute, as well as all files. I cannot remove this and should only be set if using the online-only feature. I want all files locally synced. I am syncing all folders and have nearly 1 TB of space left. (No folders are shared, files are taking up space) Now I noticed when I try to set the sync state to offline only, it always goes back to online only, no matter how many times I've set it. The reason this is a problem is I also use Backblaze, which cannot back up these files and folders. This behavior occurs on any machine I sync this account with. I can't remove the reparse attribute either-Windows just tells me access to the cloud file is denied. My other account does not have this problem. All folders and files in this account are offline only and the reparse attribute is not set. I have a ticket open with Dropbox, but honestly, I'm not expecting much from there. Does anyone have a similar experience?19Views0likes1CommentTrying to change email and getting an error that "This email is already taken."
I am trying to change the email address on my dropbox account. I used to have two dropbox accounts but deleted one about 10 days ago. I am now trying to change the email on my second account to the email I used for the other account. Even after 10 days, I am still getting the error "This email address is already taken". When I try to login with that email address, it brings me to the signup page, suggesting that the email is not associated with an account. What do I need to do to be able to use this email address with my dropbox account? Thank you!Solved144Views1like14CommentsHow can I switch from a subscription from an App store to a direct one from Dropbox?
I currently have a Dropbox Professional subscription managed as an Apple App Store Subscription. How can I convert my account's subscription so it is not managed externally by Apple, but directly by Dropbox?33Views0likes1CommentCan I install the Dropbox desktop app on two separate Windows accounts?
Hello, I have all of my dropbox files synced from the cloud to my hard-drive. It's a 2nd drive I have rather than my main drive. I use my own Windows account account. My question is.... can my wife log in via HER Windows user account and also use the same dropbox account and the same files on our '2nd drive'? If she logs into dropbox with the same details as me but via HER Windows user account, can she just point dropbox to the 2nd drive as per me? ie. it wont try and start downloading everything again. Hope that made sense.60Views0likes5CommentsI'm being asked for a code that's sent to my old email address, so I can't enter my Dropbox account.
Hello, most of the files I uploaded to a Dropbox account (around 2021) was done when my account was associated with an email that I no longer have access to. I do have a few files in a separate Dropbox account associated with my current, permanent email, but most are in the original account. I'm unable to log into the original account because it sends the code to the non-accessible email. It would be great to be able to link my original Dropbox account to either my current email address, and/or my cell phone number. Thank you for your assistance.56Views0likes3CommentsHacking on my account

I have 2 Dropbox accounts (separate emails/logins). One is my original personal account and the other I specifically use only in connection with my business (clients send files to this second account). Recently (this year), the Dropbox app disappeared off my computer and access to the files on my original account from my computer (offline) got messed up. That issue was resolved. When I log in to one account, the content on THAT account should exist there and only there. And the other account should be accessible when logged into that account. And I should be able to switch accounts whenever I need to and not lose access to the offline files that have ALWAYS lived ON my computer with no issue (until the problems that began happening in 2025). However, the content on my second account (accessed online/web browser only) appears to have been replaced with the content from my original account. And the desktop app looks like my OFFLINE files are unlinking or getting messed up when switching account online (web browers)—no change made to the login on the desktop app. The logical account access (with separate logins) is not happening. What is the Dropbox solution for accessing the content that is supposed to be on the completely separate second account that has its own unique login?86Views0likes11Comments
