34 TopicsTurn automated file deletion into "Make online-only" by default
Hello, I use security cameras for research. The cameras are set up to save video recordings directly onto a PC (Windows 11) on the same local network. The folder where videos are saved is inside my Dropbox folder, and the desktop Dropbox client syncs automatically. Videos are therefore automatically uploaded to Dropbox once each file finishes being recorded. This works great. The issue I am having is related to the capacity of the local hard drive. The security camera management software is set to automatically delete the oldest videos whenever it runs out of storage space, so that it has somewhere to save new videos. This causes these oldest videos to be deleted not only from my local drive, but also from the Dropbox account (Dropbox for Business). I would like to configure Dropbox to instead treat this automated deletion the same as if I used the "Make online-only" option on desktop, i.e. allow the local videos to be deleted as needed by the camera management software, but retain all backups in the online Dropbox. Is this possible? I'd like to be able to do this while simultaneously retaining as much recent video on the local drive as possible, because we often work with these local video files. This means that making older videos online-only in advance is not really the answer I'm looking for. Thank you!Solved2.1KViews2likes5CommentsFiles deleted from Lightroom don't to the Bin. They go to a file named "CloudStorge/Dropbox/.Trash"
Hi I have been using Dropbox and Lightroom together for years. In recent weeks and when I delete files from Lightroom they don't go to the Bin. They go to a file named "CloudStorage/Dropbox/.Trash". This is somehow a hidden folder that I have managed to find via CleanMy Mac software. However, when I delete files from Viewer they do go to the Bin. The main problem is that these files still take space in my Hard Drive... I believe that the issue came up since the last updated version of Dropbox for macOS. I am using a Macbook Pro with a M1 Processor and I always have had the latest software installed. The same applies to Lightroom. Could you please assist? Any ideas why and what to do?
Hi, since few weeks I'm getting an error on some files in my Dropbox. I use Dropbox tipically from 2 different Laptops. Typically I use Dropbox from 2 different laptops. Now it happens that some files that up to the day before I can open regularly, suddenly at the time of opening give me an error (Error loading), which I am attaching a screenshot. In addition, on all files with which I get this error I find the file name changed with all lowercase letters, while up to before the error I had specifically created them with both uppercase and lowercase. Now I'm really afraid of losing all my files and not being able to access them anymore. Please tell me if exist a Fix or a workaround to avoid that error.Solved9.6KViews0likes7CommentsAccept all changes and stop tracking for all documents in Dropbox folder
Is there a way to accept all changes and stop tracking for all documents in a Dropbox folder? I have 156 Word documents in a particular DB folder, and I'm wondering if there's a way that I can accept all changes and stop tracking for all of them with one action rather than opening each one separately and doing it 156 times.Solved1.4KViews0likes3Comments3ds Max & Dropbox
