It’s getting really close to one of my absolute favourite times of year, Halloween. As always, I’ll be building an eerie playlist to listen to while I decorate my house with spooky stuff to entertain the trick or treaters who call at my door. Using Paper to make a playlist This year, I decided to ask some friends for help curating my playlist, to make this process a little easier I created a Halloween paper doc and shared it with everyone and asked them to add their favourite Halloween songs. Dropbox Paper has lots of features to help make your planning easier! Adding Spotify links to a Paper doc I’ll be using Spotify to make my playlist and it’s super easy for people to add a link to Spotify directly to a Paper document. Here’s how to do it Click the Insert media button on the menu bar at the bottom of the page Scroll down the left-hand side of the pop up window until you see the Spotify button Copy and paste the Spotify link and press enter Click the Add to doc button I know that not all of my friends use Spotify, but anyone else who wants to add to the doc can do so by adding a YouTube link, by using the same method, with the only difference being you choose the YouTube option on the pop up window after you click the Insert media button. Our top spooky selections So, to help get you in the mood for Spooky season 👻 here’s some of the tracks that have made their way onto this year’s Playlist so far. Tell us what you think My playlist needs your help, please let me know what you think of it so far and add links to any tracks you’d like to see added.9.3KViews8likes0CommentsStreamline Music Creation with Dropbox
So somebody just asked you to collab on a track and you’re wondering how to actually share your project files 🤔 . Integrating Dropbox into your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) is a simple way to back-up, sync, and share your music sessions no matter which programme you use ✨. Here’s a quick guide to get you started: How to Set It Up: Ableton Live Go to Preferences > File/Folder, and set your default project location to a folder inside your Dropbox folder. Or, when saving your project, just choose a folder in Dropbox manually. Make sure to collect all and save (File > Collect All and Save) so your samples and files stay together. Logic Pro When you create a new project, save it directly into your Dropbox folder. Use “File > Consolidate Project” if needed to make sure all assets are included. To share, just send your collaborator the Dropbox link or invite them to the folder. FL Studio Save your project file (.flp) and all samples/audio into a new folder in your Dropbox. Use File > Export Project Data Files to collect everything. Share that whole folder from Dropbox with your collaborator. Pro Tools Save your session into Dropbox or move the whole session folder there. Use “Save Copy In…” if you want to make a clean version with all media files included. Share the session folder through Dropbox just like any other file. 🎶 Now that your studio vibes are leveled up, you can effortlessly bounce between sessions (see what I did there 😉) and share stems with a collaborator from anywhere in the world 🌍. With Dropbox in your set up, you’re able to stay in the zone without any file chaos or version mix-ups. So, what DAW are you using these days? 🎛️ Working on anything exciting? Question or Issue We are experiencing a problem where a user is unable to access a Dropbox file through Adobe InDesign. The project folder contains two directories — one with the content files and another with the InCopy file. Dropbox shows that all data is fully synced. However, when the user attempts to open the content folder file directly from Dropbox in Adobe InDesign, the image frame loads but the linked text content does not, and an error message appears This issue does not occur when the files are downloaded locally. in that case, everything opens correctly. We have already verified that the files are synced and that the user has the necessary permissions. Could you please confirm whether this is a Dropbox-related issue and advise on how to resolve it?44Views0likes3CommentsUsing DB to sync Password Vaults
I have a Android phone (ver. 9). I use a password vault that depends on its database file being synchronized between PC desktop and my cell phone. On a previous cell phone, this arrangement worked very well. Now with my new Pixel 7 pro phone, it is not working. I suspect it is because my cell phone version of DropBox is not syncing correctly. I would like the DB to automatically synch every time I open or close the cell phone. But I suspect it is not happening. I don't know how to determine if I am looking at the latest DB contents on my cell phone. I also do not know how to force a synch. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Tom1.1KViews0likes3CommentsCan't add Dropbox as a place on a Microsoft Office app on Android tablet
Microsoft wont add Dropbox as a place I use dropbox on Desktop and Apple devices with a different account. It works fine with excel to save documents. For the last 6 months my android devices have worked great as well. However, recently, when trying to save an edited excel document that I’ve opened with dropbox on my android device, it does not give me the option to save the document to Dropbox folders once I’ve edited and click “save as”. After clicking “add a place” then Dropbox, and then signing in, it loads and takes me back to excel, yet it still doesn’t show up. No error message, just isn’t an option. Click add a place again, and can click dropbox as an option again, sign in, ect. It’s an endless loop. I have tried uninstalling both apps, disconnecting Microsoft and excel from the dropbox’s connected apps, other troubleshooting. nothing working so far. If you know a solution, please advise. thanks!50Views0likes3CommentsTurn Auto Play off for audio Files
Please add a way to stop audio files from playing instantly, as soon as you open them. On the Dropbox app, using an iPhone, the minute you open the file it starts playing. If you have previously played that audio file and paused it half way through, you can't stop it from playing in time to take it back to the start. We use Dropbox for our choir and keep our backing tracks and sheet music together. During a performance we need to make sure all the files have been returned to the start and we can't have them ready to go to press play.54Views0likes1Comment
