Question I just purchased a plus account and would like to connect to Roksbox to view movies in Roku. I'm not seeing all of the share control settings that the instructions states, do I need to upgrade my subscription to have more options? I work with one other person. We were both working on our laptops on the same file in our shared Dropbox folder. (I was adding to a working list and she was editing above.) But I kept getting an odd request for permission and the file name changed to a long sequence of numbers and letters and was saved in another folder called "old files." So the attempt to work on the same file at the same time failed. How can we make this work?Solved13KViews0likes7CommentsWord document's format created on the web, doesn't seem the same when viewing using the desktop app.
I am having issues with formatting NOT remaining the same from when I create a Word document locally (and saved on Dropbox app) to once it is being edited in Word for the Web. I have noticed that specific "Style" formatting in Word for Web doesn't match the formatting when viewing the document in Word itself. Is there a way to update the styles formatting in the Word for Web to match the styles formatting in Word desktop? E.g. When in my local Word app, I use Styles set to Palatino Linotype for HEADING 1, 2, 3. All of my body text is also Palatino Linotype (Normal). My Table of Content also is showing correctly in Palatino Linotype. When I open the same document in Word for Web all of my headings (1,2, and 3) get converted to Calibri. My TOC also changes to Calibri as does my body text for bulleted lists. This is massively problematic when I or anyone else goes to edit the document in Word for Web as it looks like the formatting is wrong. However, if anyone was to open it on their desktop it would look as it should. How do I get the Word for Web formatting to match what I see and do on desktop? Note: I use Chrome on a Mac. When I open Word for Web I see the option to use Palatino Linotype but even if I revise the formatting in Word for Web with Palatino L. it will convert back to Calibri at some point due to other edits made. Basically, the option to use Palatino L. is there but it doesn't want to stay that way.Solved2.3KViews0likes1CommentExcel crashes when opening a file from Dropbox but not from Desktop.
Hello. This just started occurring yesterday for one of my machines. I have files stored on Dropbox sync'd through filer explorer. When I open the file from dropbox (file explorer), excel quits responding. When I open the same file from my Desktop, Excel works as normal. Dropbox is listed as a connected service in Excel and there have been no issues before yesterday. I have updated office and performed a repair without luck. Any thoughts?1.5KViews1like17CommentsThe dreaded error 'Can't save here choose another location' for MS office files.
Hello--I have a chronic problem with my file folders: frequently get 'Can't save here choose another location'. I use my employer's MS Office 365 account, and sync Dropbox to Windows Explorer, and use Explorer for my file management. The 'Can't save' message seems to appear when I am using many subfolders...if I go back one folder I can save the file. The problem is, this doesn't work with my folder organizing system. Is there a limit to how many subfoldes can be used? If so, can I release that limit? Or is the problem something else? Thanks you!5.2KViews0likes1CommentWe're using synology but I can't see a list of Dropbox folders to sync.
We have several clients who utilize Synology NAS servers running DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 3 & Cloud Sync configured to sync to their Dropbox Teams accounts. All were working great up until the end of April 2024 when they all stopped syncing within days of each other. To test the connectivity from Cloud Sync to Dropbox, I tried creating a New Task (within Cloud Sync) and when I get to the point where I choose what folder I want to sync to (the Remote Path) it never populates the folders available on Dropbox. When I unlink the Dropbox account altogether and relink it, it goes through all of the motions of logging in, gives me a page where I have to grant the Synology Cloud Sync App permissions (which I do) and I still cannot continue because it does not populate any existing folders. So it will not sync the tasks that were working fine, nor will it let me create a new task and sync because I cannot get a list of folders to sync with from the remote end (Dropbox's end). Is anyone else experiencing this issue?6.3KViews0likes6CommentsData Migration from Sharepoint/OneDrive to Dropbox.
Are there some best practices or guidlines I can follow and use. Do tools for data migration from Dropbox exists? The only information I could find was movebot and Storage Guardian. Are there any reviews and helpful tips? Good to know: I have a lot of data 1.5 TB + which I want to migrate without loss. I would be really thankful I someone can provide me with detailled information about this topic or even a guidline. Thanks a lot.Solved3.1KViews1like2CommentsiOS Files app favorites folder disappear
On both my iPad and my iPhone, when I mark a folder from Dropbox or any other cloud service as a “Favorite”, it shows up in my favorite list in the Files app, but if I switch apps or close the files app, when I reopen it, the folder disappears from the favorites list.26KViews7likes130CommentsUnlimited cloud backup on Dropbox with a Synology NAS. Is this possible?
Hello all, Apologies for the repost if so but I need help understanding the functionality of the cloud tech and services. My goal is to have an unlimited cloud backup on Dropbox of my Synology NAS archive. Does Dropbox Back-Up support that? Details: I have a Synology NAS 4-bay. I use it for personal archives and some client collaboration (photo and video). I want to use Dropbox for client collaboration instead and reserve Synology for personal archive and backblaze as cloud back-up for the archive (which also includes client work). Mostly because the Synology is currently via wifi and is too slow for collaborating but okay for archive. While making a personal Dropbox account I saw Dropbox Back-up allows unlimited space for backing up. I thought this might be useful and perhaps an alternative to backblaze for the back-ups need (in addition to the personal account for collaboration needs) Then I saw this, "Files on your PC or Mac are continuously backed up to the cloud." Does Dropbox Back-Up support syncing all Synology NAS files with unlimited space or only the local computer and external drive? Is this how this works or am I thinking about this wrong? Edit: Synology has Hyper Backup where you can sync to Dropbox. Do I start there and work back to Dropbox Backup unlimited plan?Solved20KViews0likes5CommentsError that the file couldn't be opened when accessing Google sheets document online.
Hi, I'm encountering a problem while using Google sheets that's integrated with Dropbox. It used to be fine, but when I tried to open it today, the page refused to load and the message that I got is "File could not open. Try refreshing the page". I already tried to refresh the page several times, but it wouldn't work. I even tried to copy the file and open the copy -- but again, to no avail. This happened to my several other Google sheets documents as well. What do you think is happening and what should I do now? I'm afraid that it will affect my other Google documents since I'm using the Google-Dropbox integration quite often. I'd appreciate any help, thanks!Solved24KViews0likes46Comments
