I have some large files (several GB each) that I would like to make available to customers to test my company's software. Due to the file sizes, upload/download times can be quite long, and I don't want to chew up my organization's storage space by uploading each file multiple times. So, I'd like to place the files in a single Dropbox folder and share the link with each relevant customer. However, I want to make sure that anyone who I share the link with can't see who else I've sent it to. Recipients of the link may be early in the adoption process and can't be officially "exposed" as customers yet, and our customers may be competitors with each other, so I want to be sure that no one outside my organization can see anyone else who isn't part of either their or my organization. For example: In this folder, I am RK, BC is my colleague, and XH and ZW are employees at one of our customers. However, if XH and ZW weren't colleagues, I would want each of them to only see themselves, RK, and BC as members of the folder. Does this feature exist, and if so, how can I enable it in shared folders? I would want this obscurity to propagate downwards to any sub-folders (and sub-sub-folders) as well.Solved65Views0likes4CommentsI need to recover an old link that no longer works - how can I do that?

I am trying to obtain a retirement interview video file that the sender can open with their link and drop box account, but the file cannot be opened by me at my end. I do not know if it is a firewall issue, but I can't open the link on my end? I get a response saying it is a "local file" and it cannot be opened. Help!!! My Dropbox app on my iPhone has not synced in over a year... I have a Iphone 13 mini, running iOS 18.7.2. I have tried logging in/out of my Dropbox account, deleting the App and downloading it again from the App Store, clearing my cache, restarted my iPhone, unlinked and linked back to my laptop and NOTHING is working.... For reference I am attaching a screenshot which shows my files sorted by Modified" and it shows that the last file which was modified was over a year ago. I use files in my Dropbox multiple times everyday. Any thoughts on what I can try? It's really frustrating.Solved256Views0likes9CommentsSome of my shared folder members can't see the changes I make in said folder.
Device MSI Laptop i9 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11/ Google Chrome Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 233.4.4938 Syncing Status Up to date Question or Issue I am using Dropbox basic with 15 gb storage as I have introduced friends to it over the years I am sharing a folder which has one file (Manager.io database) The shared folder shows 2 members. I do a backup from my computer to Dropbox but the other member is not able to see it. Today, I have removed the shared folder and started all over again and the 2nd member can see and open the new folder. Tomorrow when I do a new backup to dropbox, the 2nd user can only see the first backup and not the new backup folder. What do I do for the 2nd member to be able to see the new folder? As I have been sharing folders for many years on Dropbox, I thought I only had to share folders with another member, or has Dropbox complicated the process nowadays and do I have also to create a link to make it work? The second user only has view rights and not edit rights. Hi everyone, I’m a photographer and use Dropbox to back up and share high-resolution images, especially those edited in the Hypic - Photo Editor and AI Arts. Lately, I’ve been encountering some frustrating problems with uploading and syncing my photos. I typically work with large files, like RAW images or high-res edited photos (some files are over 100MB each), and when I try to upload multiple photos at once, the process slows down drastically or fails halfway. This happens even when I’m on a stable, high-speed internet connection. I’ve tried different browsers, and even the Dropbox desktop app, but the issue persists. Occasionally, the sync just pauses or takes forever to complete. I’ve checked my storage limit, and I’m nowhere near the cap, so it’s not a space issue. I also made sure my Dropbox app is up to date. Has anyone else faced this issue with uploading or syncing large photo files? Could it be something to do with file size limits, upload throttling, or specific settings that need adjusting for smoother uploads? Also, are there any tips or best practices for handling large files on Dropbox—like splitting them up, compressing, or changing settings? I rely on Dropbox for my workflow, and this issue is slowing down my entire process. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.291Views0likes2CommentsI organized a massive amount of files on the desktop app, but sync seems to have stopped.
Yikes! Everything had been going well. Uploads to Dropbox from my main external HDs seemed fine. The DropBox online and my iMac were synced. THEN, I continued sorting, reorganizing, renaming the folder structure, moving around some files, deleting others. Not sure how many hours, but a lot. NOTICED that the online thru browser no longer reflected my files on Desktop. In troubleshooting it seemed okay to quit and restart the desktop app. I also restarted my computer. This has not solved anything. For hours now, the pull down report from menu bar says it's syncing "16.214 files 9MB" but, I do not see any progress. The browser doesn't reflect the changes. WHAT IS MY NEXT STEP? I want to retain all the organization work. I am worried if I redownload and install the app, I may end up with an earlier state of the files. Please advise.Solved309Views0likes6Comments
